Thats good news then, hopefully it stays that way. Just as we all know with footy clubs theres injuries, players going away, work commitments and if the team is loosing every week some players lose interest. They really did get a tough draw for there first 4 games.

Just like to add that after yesterdays game I am starting to understand why Payne and co were given the ass by Eastern Park. No class or character whatsoever, and Walton you are disgrace. To come from behind and king hit an 18yr on two separate occasions just proves that Eastern Parks decision to get rid of thugs like you was the correct one.
BL are not world beaters and on a larger ground they will be exposed.
For mine CLG are the benchmark.

Sounds like sour grapes to me....

Payney has plenty of character, I belive he showed some of it off when he kicked them few goals in the last, dunno about the whole class thing though...

As for Waltz, not condoning what he did but age shouldn't be a factor, old enough to play, old enough to cop a smacking...

Not sour grapes at all mate, just can't stand guys like him who think being tough means going around king hitting people. And what you have just said above about old enough to cop a smacking says a lot about the mentality of your club and why no one will ever respect it.

I think MyPaddocks use of the words King Hit is a very very loose use of the words to say the least. Maybe questions should be asked about what their player was prepared to do to Walton so he didnt have 14 goals kicked on him!!!!!

I also notice he failed to mention about their defensive player who felt the need to run through Payney very very very late after he took a mark 25 out from goal. It was nice of him to act like a thug and give away the 25 metre penalty and ensure the goal thats for sure.

As for his character it sounds a lot like the people from the pine not being happy to take their medicine after giving Payne grief for the last quarter before he kicked two goals virtually winning the game. I guess if the people on the pine asked him for his autograph after his first goal it was only fair that after kicking the second he was allowed to write it in the air for them!!!!

Mypaddock, I'd be very careful in throwing around rumours as to why Payney left EP.

I can also assure you it had nothing to do with him being a thug.

After just speaking to two people who were at the game, from both sides, it seems there was no thug-type behaviour from Carey Payne, after all, he is the coach and he realises he needs to lead by example.

Walton was very undisciplined and as a result, was benched for it. But to say this is why ep got rid of Payne and those that followed him is not correct nor warranted.

I'm sure the BL boys can give a better insight of yesterday incidents though.

As for no-one respecting BL, it's hard not to take your hat off to a club that managed to stay in div 6 by default and has been proactive in recruiting quality players to ensure it doesn't happen again. Their reward so far is a spot on top of the table.

Talk about being taken out of context....

My comment was more to do with the players age than the incident...
This ain't exactly netball we're playing out there, was just trying to clarify that the fact that the player was 18 should have nothing to do with what happened.

Also have to agree with EddieV, not exactly the fairest of treatment on our side either.

Can we please clarify the event for all those who weren't there ie. myself. Was there a king hit at some stage of the game whilst a player wasn't looking??? If so surely there wouldve been a report. Was the young fella hurt in anyway??? Just lots of accusations getting made here

The umpire was right there and didnt even feel the action was worthy of a free kick. Walton was benched by the coaches for the incident and probably reminded of his responsibilities knowing the assistant coaches.

I will also mention that the two umpires were a disgrace to all umpires. We were sitting there and were sick of hearing their whistle. It seemed every time the ball went into a contest they picked a free kick and gave a 25 metre penalty. This went both ways but it would have frustrated the players no end as im sure it did the supporters.
