this aint the afl - whether they did or didnt, what does it matter?
this is country footy and clubs are run by volunteers.
unless its something good/positive its most probably better to be left alone!!!

Fester, since when does something have to be good or positive to be posted on this forum. This forum is littered with negative posts. Isn't that half the attraction of an anonymous forum!! Look, i don't know the story behind this incident but you guys obviously do & it must be a bit close to home and that's fine. Surely someone not attached to the Eagles has heard something??

Yes. And like me and Droppie both said, that s***t doesn't need to be talked about hear as I beleive it would be crossing the line. You won't find out what happened on here from us and I'm pretty sure Ace and Jack won't wnat to discuss it. Doesn't have much to do with footy anyway so how about we all move along.

Unreal you guys! Obviously its something big but we'll just have to move on but can anyone see the double standard here? Some of you guys may as well start your own little forum so you can all joke around with each other. Or better yet, just do it at the pub like most people. These forums are for gossip & innuendo's to some degree, i would've thought. I'm quite certain that if this involved any other club other than Eagles, United or Mallala, you guys would be all over it! The rest of us read along with all you inhouse sledges and jabs at each other but when something controversial comes up that affects your clubs, you guys get a little precious.

Turn it up mate. It's a non-football subject. Hence, why the **** should we tell everyone about it on a "footy forum".

Woofa, Im sure a couple of these guys know of or about sensitive issues/subjects to do with other clubs, but have not mentioned it on this forum out of respect. If these blokes are saying it should not be talked about on this forum leave it at that. This forum is about footy gossip, not private issues.

MC's early tips for this week.

Mallala by 4 goals in a physical game.
United to beat Balak
Unlike Ace & Donkey I will be backing my own team every week regardless because I'm biased. None of this tipping the opposition crap!

Two out of two aint bad for the first week! How did the trial go Friday night Jumbo/Rooster? I heard Trav Taylor ended up in hospital with a busted shoulder. Any other injuries.

Was a good win yesterday by the Tigers and we ended up winning by about 10 goals. Would have definately taken that at the start of the game for sure. Midfield pressure was the catalyst and every single person did the job that was asked of them at the start of the game.

The big highlight of the day was the U/14's surprise win against Balaklava who have been undefeated for the past 4 years. Our youngens hadn't even scored a goal against them for two years so for them to win was sensational. Nearly had us all in tears as they walked off the ground and the effort they showed was bloody brilliant.

Must have been a close one at Wakey.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

MC, I see Tom Guerin bagged a lazy 7. Good to see all the imports in the best players. Pretty dominate start to the season for the Tigers. Catford best for the Peckers as usual.

Probably more the 2nd one than the 1st streakof. I don't know why anyone would expect Mallala to be anything less than they have been, they still have the midfield guns. And if you allow them time and space as we did on Saturday, they are going to carve you up. And with J. Earl still to play in 09 (courtesy of the dreaded baby cow), things look good for them.

As for us, it's going to take some time to get everyone on the same page I spose. New coach, new forward 6, new back 6, these things often don't click straight away, and while disappointed with the loss, I think we too have a lot to look forward to. I hope! Discipline is one area in particular that needs to be improved. I think all Mallala's goals in the 3rd quarter came from free kicks IIRC. And Reidy snapping a great goal in the last quarter only for it not to count because a free kick was given against for mouthing off at the ump (not by Reidy) was crucial.

Huge game at Wakey Sat week v United, sounds like they're going all right! We can't afford to drop many more if we want to finish in the top two, as past years have shown.

Balaklava will be a better side without Bluey. Not having Hayden Walker on Saturday would also be a big factor, however United winning by 10 goal+ would suggest that Balak have a few more issues other than lacking Walker or McMillan! Lets not forget the quality that United have recruited. They have slipped under the radar over the preseason having also cut a lot of deadwood.

Good summary Jack. One of the more physical games of A grade I have seen, with both teams smashing in which made for a great spectacle. I dont think HWE would be too disappointed in their performance. They have plenty of improvement to look forward to especially from Joe 'Hollywood' Hunt who was blanketed by Dave Cawrse. For Mallala Joel Mont was VG as was Rimmer, Whitty, Birchmore and Hardie. Prousey also seemed to enjoy being back at his home ground

It was a great game and the result was probably the result most would have expected, one that couldve gone either way. A quality, tight, physical game with both sides to improve alot from their first match The win is a handy one though :D :D

Did I mention the form of the youthful fullback of HWE, explosive, youthful performance!

I spoke to him this morning, he's not feeling that youthful today apparently! And as far as I'm concerned, I don't think he was that flash. I told him as much. We have a pretty good relationship like that. Some of his kicking was VERY ordinary, but he's still standing so that's the positive to come out of it. He's got a lot of work to do on the track that's for sure!

Good trial game played at two wells under lights Friday night. Both sides with quite young squads. Was a tight game and though i wasnt keeping track of the scores i would say that two wells would have been close to the lead at the end of the second but a strong 7 - 1 goal finsh from blyth/ snowtown seen them finish with a win. But you know what they say its not about the score and both sides look promising and expected to improve in the 2009 season.

Obviously I can read best players. . . .But in your opinions (I guess MC, Ace and Swamp) how did Mills, Thomas and any of the other bigger (by bigger i mean more famous) new recruits look over the weekend?

How did the oval go at Wakey? No different to ours I assume....hard, dry and dusty.
Some folks are wise and some are otherwise.
