So round 2 coming up this week, should be interesting to guage the form of clubs.

Mypolonga V Imperials - Imps will be looking at stamping themselves further on the competition. They'll be aiming at some type of revenge from last year's finals series when the Tigers beat them by 10 goals. I could see the Blues winning this 51-60.

Jervois V Mannum - this looks like it could be a fairly even contest. Mannum will be a chance but they'll need a few of their injured playes to resume. Jervois, mainly because its at home, 11-20.

Tailem Bend V Meningie - its really hard to tell how competitive the Bears will be given that they had the Bye in the first round. They do look to have signed some impressive recruits, they may not have the depth of the Eagles, though, and Tailem will be on a high after defeating the Roos last week. Tailem 31-40.

Tailem got up by about 8 points today after Meningie were leading by 5 goals at 3qtr time. Meningie were definately the dominant team for the majority of the game. Tailem turned things around half way through the last quarter despite injuries to Muffy, Vickers and Johns. Gabb, Lynch, O'Connel (5 goals), Schultz & Linde were all good for Tailem. Not sure of names but No.s 5 & 8 were excellent for Meningie providing strong options up forward and around the ground. Meningie will be extremely disapointed with missed chances at goal and letting a significant lead go. Tailem have a lot of work to do still and will be hoping that injuries to those mentioned above aren't serious. Meningie have definately improved and would expect them to register a few wins this year.

Could be a long year for the Bluds this year, could you imagine what the score v Mannum would of been if Mannum kicked straight.
Mannum 17.19 d Jervois 15.7
36 scoring shots to 22, Sammy & his troops have alot of work in front of them.
How good are Mannum?

was lucky enough to head out to mypo to watch them take on the blues yesterday.
was a very one sided affair in the first quarter. dont think mypo even kicked a goal.
after that though it was a pretty even game. when mypo played well they looked similar to how they finished last year. unfortunately for them though they the didnt do it often enough.
imps looked good, mostly when mypo werent manning up on them though..
for all they hype about them so far though i didnt think they were that brilliant. it looked like all their recruits were playing. honner did nothing at CHF and the 2 kenny boys picked up a couple of kicks. wait picked up a heap of touches and looked a class above at times. sayers played very well and was probably the best game i have seen him play.
apart from the dismal first qrtr i think mypo either outscored imps or at least drew even.
will be interesting to see how they next match up

my best would be
1)kelvin Farnham (fari dinkum why do they get this guy to umpire imps' games... terrible)
2)t wait
3)young meneghetti who gave the big honnor a touch up at CHB
4)sayers

i here that the recruits that Meningie have picked up are pretty handy footballers. Maybe not the easy games teams may think it will be when they play them this year.

I heard a little whisper that Clive Waterhouse is being targeted as a late recruit for Mannum now that he has retired from League football.

Apparently their coach knows him?

Surely the bloke retired due to injuries, so why would he play Country football? It couldn't be for the money as he would make a shit load more money playing for the Maggies and it's definitely not like it's a 5 minute drive for the bloke.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

I don't think he did retire due to injuries did he. He played League last week and got dropped to reserves this week so he retired.

To be fair it was Zeb's first game back from a knee recon and Boyds first game back from a shoulder injury. It was just good to see them get through the game. Honner did also play a fair bit a CHB also.

How did Comer go? does he just sit in the pocket and kick the odd goal or does he do any ruck work??
