Maybe they could get the rights to the Championship or League 1 in England. I would love to watch Leeds dominate and work their way up to the premiership again. :D

I have been watching a few of their videos on youtube from when they were a top European team. They were brilliant. I know that they are in the playoffs area in League 1. Lets hope they get promoted.

maybe but why are they so far down, in the second division. Not being smart but what was the real reason for them starting with minus 15 points one year?

As I mentioned in the Cricket section supposedly the IPL will be shown exclusively on One and with no games to be shown on Channel Ten. Hopefully that info is incorrect.

Makes sense really, why limit themselves by showing the same on both channels. Footy I can understand but people who don't want to watch the cricket now will have the option of a movie rather than tuning in to another station.

I wouldn't have thought it was for that reason, movies dont rate. I think it would have more to do with trying to entice all the cricket nuts out there to go and get set-top boxes or to buy an HD TV. Putting aside all the aussies that are interested in the IPL there are around 150,000 Indians now living here and we all know how mad a lot of Indians are about their cricket.

It's like Foxtel not making One available on the IQ until July 1st (when the NBA & IPL seasons have wrapped up) in an attempt to get people to upgrade to their HD box the IQ2 which I think costs about $200 for the installation upgrade.

It's all about the money and as usual the viewers are the losers.

You can get One HD on a standard Definition box. Just head to channel 12. Why don't you go buy a standard set top box Gozu? You could pick up a cheapy for $50 and get better picture as well as one HD and ABC2.

Thanks and oh yeah I know and I'm trying not to come across as whinging too much. I've already got Foxtel and the normal IQ is already a digital set-top box. We get ABC2 on there but they won't make One available until July 1st. I thought there would be problems given One is designed as a FTA competitor to Fox Sports. I wouldn't have thought you could hook up both a STB and the Foxtel IQ (already being a STB) to an analogue TV.

Even though it means I won't be able to record anything I am thinking about getting a STB for the spare TV solely for the rest of this NBA season and the IPL season. $40-$50 for a cheap STB isn't a lot of money to spend but from July 1st (when One will be available through Foxtel's IQ) the STB would no longer be needed.

Oh ok. Now I see where you are coming from. I guess its a matter of how much you want to watch the cricket and basketball at the end of the day. Probably be a bit of a nuisance for you.

why not go out and pick up a cheap one now you are eventually going to have to get it anyway either next year if you live in regional SA and 2013 if in the metro area.

I'm in the metro area but the Foxtel IQ is an SD set-top box and I dont plan on getting rid of the Foxtel anytime soon. However I'm thinking I might go and get a cheap STB on Sunday for the NBA & IPL and then just give the box to my mum after July 1st.

Last week I got a cheap STB from Coles. $29 can't argue with that. :)

yep I have the same issues with my VCR. I asked the salesman when I purchased the STB he said it should be able to do it but he wasn't sure 100%.

Just a matter of finding some time to sit down and muck about with it which I will have to do soon as no doubt the parentals would like me to tape the Golf when it on ONE.

and Fisty for 29 clams it would be a SD as I haven't yet seen a HD under 100. paid $119 for mine plus $30 extra for extended warranty for 3 years which is a fix up for the first year then after that a new replacement. It is pretty much fixed one the Sports channel 95% of the time
