Pretty sure media mike scouts ths sight. Was mentioned in the Herald that S. Eichner was related to Corrie Eichner at Freeling. Actually no relation, just coincidence.

Cant believe you would say it wouldnt even be close Cougar. Even with all that talent, you still have 20 goals to make up from 07 and 9 last year. You assume we always get our strongest side to. There are ways around all rules. I dont think you guys are streets ahead. Would be a good close tight game, with home advantage probably being the decider most of the time

I foresee some results that would have seemed impossible last year, however, anything's possible!!!
All I can say is bring on the Association game where we can unleash Eichner, Dawes, Vanderloo, etc upon the Hill-Billies!!!

If Hills play their strongest possible team, it won't be even a close game. Mark Clayton, Jeremy Jaques, Luke Slattery, James Bros, Brad Pearce are all guns and play in Hills League Division 2!!!! Mixed in with their best from Divvy 1 would make a pretty awesome unit for Roger James to coach this year. Unfortunately the big clubs (Mt.Lofty/Uraidla/ Handorf) probably won't let their better players available for it. BL&G will give a good account of themselves again, as their players face suspension if they don't make themselves available. A rule the HFL is looking at, but not sure if it will be applied for 2009.

Nah, Hills def aren't streets ahead... home ground will be interesting as an advantage, but as a 9 team league vs a 20+ team league, not a lot can be said on paper...

results over the last couple years suggest the BL&G give more than a good account of themselves. get your hand off it mate.

I can shed some light on that.
The Hancock's that own the Freeling Hotel are sponsers of the North Adelaide Roosters.
I would know because I am the publicans son.

The last 2 years the only team that has to make anything up is the hills. They have been smashed both years and if anything got there pants pulled down to go with it!!!!
The BLG doesn't get enough credit here.. They have always shown more than enough in these games and i can't rememeber them ever getting smashed like the hills have!!!
Names on paper don't alway's mean they can play either!!!!

BG & L clearly been the best side on Association Days over the past 2 years, but look at the results before when the Hills got close to their full strength side. The Last two years the Hills have had hardly anyone picked from Mt.Lofty (arguably the strongest country club in S.A. at the moment), Uraidla, Blackwood or Torrens 'Cheque Book' Valley. Think what you like, but the BG & L is a 9 team comp competing against a Hills Comp with 20 teams involved. Law of averages would suggest Hills could provide the strongest team each year, but due to the HFL weak stance on player's unavailability, they'll continue to struggle.

theres no question that the HFL side has a greater depth of players to pick from but its worth noting that theres some very ordinary teams amongst those 20 sides. just pick up the sunday mail to see teams getting done by 20-30 goals. what a joke! a 10 goal win is an absolute blowout in the BLand G and it doesnt happen too often.

now that we have had a few trials and most lists are finalised whats everyones predictions for the end of year ladder
im going with. after seeing all games on the weekend new tips for season are:
1 tanunda-cant go past them, minimal changes
2 angaston- provided the older players stay on the park as they have minimal depth 2.nuri
3 gawler central- should finish 2nd or 3rd but could also miss the 4 3. willaston
4 willaston- will be alot better than most people think, goals will have to come from midfield 4.gawler central
5 nuri-stafford back so expect improvement here, but maybe a year away from finals 5.angaston
6 south gawler-herzick, enough said 6. barossa districts
7 freeling- should improve on last year, late addition of eichner maybe emough to lift them off the bottom 7. south gawler
8 kapunda- pretty unknown dont know much about them but should have enough quality to keep barossa at bay8. freeling
9 barossa districts- unfortunately its back to the old days for the bulldogs, the well is dry. 9. kapunda

schluter medal- chad norsworhy
goals- scott hahn only cos kennedy would be due to miss a couple through injury

Winners
Barossa (Kapunda for the wooden spoon)
Tanunda (Will be a great clash this one, Ango to be big improvers)
Centrals (Nuri to also be very good)
Freeling (South always promise a heap but rarely deliver, Freeling massive improvers)

The comp is only cranking up and there is already talk about Hills V BLG. See the Couger reakons Mt. Lofty are the best side in country SA, I would think that Tanunda would also have a good case to argue for that spot.

Barossa with a good win. Or is it?
Will Kupanda be the team that will never get a win. They are a long way from being taken seriously.
Barossa enjoy your win as it could be a long time till your next one.
