Yeah, you're right Wedgie. Wish we had to $$ to pay the mercenary?

what price do u put on a match winning performance vs port? esp his old team . worth every cent , that game alone ;)

Match winning? I would say he got fairly belted in the ruck by Miekeljohn, but we were beaten at the clearances. He was good around the ground.

You'd be wrong there mate, Ackland absolutely dominated the first half especially and was the reason we were a few goals up.
With O'Hara on the sidelines I have no doubt in my mind that we would have got beaten if it was for a fantasic effort in ruck by Ackland.
Also things were looking dodgy nearing 3/4 time, the way those ferals carried on helped fire up our boys to an easy victory in the end.
It's a toss up between who was dumber today, the Port fans in firing our boys up or the Port defenders who were nothing short of retarded, funny as buggery when one of them couldn't even understand the concept of the white line with the umpire screaming in his ear.

Spot on goraw, Cain was nothing short of dominant today.

He's looking fitter now than he ever did in the AFL.
Check out my pics of the changerooms afterwards, I'll have a set of abs like that one day!

Quality bloke, quality player.

I remember the old days when players wanted to play out of Alberton, now most of them can't wait to get out of there.

Luckily for the Power they can cover their crapl player from totally embarassing the Port Adelaide name by playing players with names such as Cornes, Motlop and Francou.
The Magpies don't have that luxury, mind you they weren't bad when they had Hargraves and Ebel playing for them! ;)

So what actually happened with this Ackland incident, as theres 5 different reports on this thread. Was there a push and shove between Ackland and the supporters or was it just verbal?

Very disappointed with the response from weslo regarding the incident at 3/4 time. The antics behind the northern goals occurred during the last 10 minutes of the 3rd quarter, and drew the attention of the weslo staff. Two of them moved in and observed the situation. As soon at the siren went for 3/4 time, the main instigator of the abuse jumped the fence and headed to the area to stand and watch the coaches address. Weslo then took too long (in my opinion) to catch up to this bloke, get more security involved and remove him before the situation deteriorated to the extent that it did.

I saw Russell Ebert near the Roosters souvenir stand throughout the day. I hope he and Barry caught up, shared a beer, and only hear about this incident, and not witnessed it like I did.

There is no place for this shameful act in our game. I hope the SANFL do something about it.

What was the crowd for today?

Why don't we have two police patrolling the bouindaries like in past seasons? Their presence carries far greater weight than any of the fluoro brigade ever will.

Perhaps read the court papers in a couple of weeks time as he was taken away by the boys in blue.
Nothing new but at least there was no kids hurt this time like not that many years ago at Prospect.

all i know is ackland kicked a goal, gave a fist pump to the port cheersquad, while the ball was getting carried back to the centre square, a port supporter was so fired up, jumped the fence. went near the boundry line cussing and giving the bird. (what makes me laugh) weslo strolled over toward him, he hopped back over the fence, and the pathetic weslo guy just hung around where he jumped back over. not even a talking too. 3/4 time same bloke ran toward cain, couldnt exactly see the incident. i was walking toward the north huddle, saw bout 10 port supporters going nuts pointing the finger at the north huddle cussing. the bloke who was running toward cain got booted out.

Sounds like an unsavoury incident

As for Weslo. Cardboard cutouts of policemen would do a better job than they do.

If someone has jumped the fence mid quarter to have a crack at a player...he should be kicked out on the spot, no questions asked. The fact that this dick seems to be part of the 'cheer squad'...even worse.

Weslo have the security contract sewn up through family links with the SANFL.
So don't entertain any ideas of a professional security mob moving in anytime soon.

As for the couple of Port supporters whose knuckles still drag along the ground, we notice that you stay a minimum of 300m away from the North Grog Squad with your antics....

Finally, 2 of the 3 men in white today are cheats- embarrissingly obvious.

I am guessing you are referring to an incident at Prospect many years ago when Roger Delaney copped a rock to his forehead whilst collecting the ball from behind the goals after a North behind? If so please be informed that the rock thrower turned out to be a child who also happened to be a Port supporter.
