Sounds like it was a fairly good game.

Not disappointing to be 2-0 8)

Was a good game insofar as it was close, and both sides had a good physical dip.

Port's game was characterised by occasional fumbles, poor choices and slips of discipline. Glenelg's game was characterised by periods of complacency. Both sides have a bit of room for improvement IMO.

Top game of footy. I thought Port were going to win at 3/4 time. Just like last week, it took one glaring error (Summerton against Norwood/ Barham in the goalsquare) to change the momentum, and against quality opposition you have to take your chances. Port's intensity at the contest could not be questioned, and the odd skill error and brainfade can be worked on. When it all clicks, watch out!

I had high hopes for Mercer but he looked out of touch after his hamstring, leaving the focus on Clive, AGAIN!

And finally Weetra needs to get more than 5 kicks for the day. X(

a good entertaing game of sanfl footy, thought that every time port threatened glenelg they were able to go up a gear, especially in the 3rd when the pies snuck 2 goals clear halfway thru the quarter with the breeze and looked as if they might open up a winning break we hit back with 5 of the next 6 goals, the same in the last when port kicked the first 2 goals and seemed to have the momentum, for the 2nd week in a row i thought our forward line apart from john hinge who presented himself in the last qtr was disappointing. Panozzo was clearly our best i thought followed by meyer, mouse, mills, ruwoldt and a few others who escape my hyngover brain atm, clayton, and no13 and 38 stood out for port i reckon

Agreed the difference between what we saw yesterday and Friday night was light years apart. Being back in Adelaide now for 18 months the appeal and atractiveness of the SANFL brand of footy compared to the AFL is so great it ain't funny. Seriously it is the best kept secret in town.

It is so good going to watch hard tough acocountable footy with no questions asked or given when teams like Sturt, Glenelg, Port and Centrals play. Sensible umpiring to boot and a good crowd who can take a bit of good natured banter but still respect the game for what it is.

Just spewing the leash got pulled* and I had to go at 1/2 time.... :(

Umpires all make mistakes & they didn't cost Port the game, Ports inability to man up when defending cost them plenty of goals & quick ones in succession like the 3rd qtr 3 in 3 minutes after being 2 goals up.

Serious question for Port fans.

Looking back over last weeks live scores thread (port v Norwood) and this weeks game it appears that the only quarter Port have been able to run out has been the first qtr of the year. Is their a fitness issue at Port? I mean it was noticable on Saturday that at roughly the 15 min mark of each quarter Glenelg would get a couple of goals and either peg back the margin (first half) or extend ther lead (last half).

So is it fitness or just a lack of confidence/confidence in their skills??

Think it had more to do with Glenelg playing in fits and spurts than Ports fitness. Kicked with the breeze in the first qtr and kicked into it in the last in a game of high intensity.

I see Dolling got a couple of weeks for the strike on Ruey. Not your typical elbow from Port normally you didn't get back up from one those....

Froggy would have to be disappointed with that............he has had a great start to the season and has made some encouraging progress towards being one of Ports elite players IMHO.

Looked like a good one,but obviously didnt really make it count. 2 weeks a bit stiff IMO with the penalties handed out in recent years. Must have been some good video footage.

I think the AFL would see a 3 or 4 week suspension in it.

I am only saying it wasnt worth 2 games considering suspensions in the SANFL are few and far between.

thanks booney it just goes to show how soft the afl is getting in its interpretations of the rules/laws of the game
