Carpet in the visitors changeroom wasn't there a few weeks ago when we had a trial there. Dare say that was just for the AFL game.

Anyone from Berri Confirm?

The council removed it before the Berri CC premiership celebrations. :D
They know what to expect.

It`s a pitty they didn`t remove the whole changerooms! How the league can say that Berri has the best facilities is a joke.Maybe the Berri/Barmera council should look at what the Renmark/Paringa have managed to do with Renmarks new rooms and apply for some of Kevin`07`stimulus money,as Barmera`s away rooms are just as bad.But then again if Barmera didn`t waste their money on over rated players, then they might be able to fund it themselves. It`s got to be a good thing for the league to have each club with decent facilities,to go with the great ovals we have.

gee slug - hope u are heavily involved with the running of one of the clubs because it sounds like your knowledge is  extensive

Is Slug referring to the AFL game being played at Berri? Not being biased, but Berri does have the best facilities to stage an AFL game. Best facilities doesn't neccesarilly mean just changerooms. That goes for location, room for other clubs to run booths etc, the oval (which was in fantastic condition) and many other criteria. Judging by the crowd we had there etc, it was justified having the game at Berri. I agree the visitor change rooms aren't that flash, but that is only a small portion of what they take into account to stage an AFL game.

I was not having a go at Berri for hosting the Crows vs Box Hill trial. They and all the people involved did a great job,and yes the playing surface was in good condition.I still have to disagree with Berri having the best facilities though.I`m sure all riverland grounds have enough space for booths and bbq`s! I was making the point that Renmark and Waikerie now have good changerooms and have set a benchmark for other clubs to follow. It is benificial to all clubs to keep upgrading facilities as this makes it far easy to attract AFL/SANFL games, and also players.
I would be interested to see who everyone else thinks has the best facilities and who has the worst????????

Waikerie has the best for at least the next three weeks.
Once Renmark's are finished, I'd say they'd be the best.
Berri was the ideal spot for the game, not only because of the quality of its changerooms etc, but because of its centrality in the Riverland.
IMO I reckon Waikerie has the best facilities, but its location was not ideal for the game.

No arguement with the location either.Just a thought though, would more people from Mildura come across if Renmark hosted a game,or even Mid north/Barossa to Waikerie????? open for debate

Doubt it. When you're travelling an hour and a half to somewhere, what's an extra 20 minutes.

Renmark would never be considered to host an AFL game until the bike track was ripped up. Not saying that to stir, but it is fact.

Anyone hear how the other games went?

BSR beat Moorook/Kingston by around 8 goals, good hit out. BSR look fairly handy. Good hospitality from BSR also.

Did that end up being individual A's and B's games, or a combined game. I know there were a few BSR boys that couldnt play so dont know how sides would have gone for numbers.

It`s a shame that the AFL is so anal on everything. It may do a few of the players some good to remember where they have come from.
