I cant believe that some North fans reckon they got a raw deal from the umps.Gary Fila was certainly helping North off to a good start and quite a few of the North goals were started by a soft umpiring decision.Yes we got a few aswell but come on if you were at the game and weren`t so one eyed then maybe you would realize that it was the better team that won by playing the better footy yesterday.I also heard that 5RPH reckon that we got the better of the umps but apparantely they were calling Adam Switalas name during the game and he played in the reserves so would you take their word for it.Interesting poster in the Budget of Nathan Lonie considerind that he doesn`t play for North anymore.

On a side note, I think the person on the PA was a bit confused pre-game, playing North's club song as Centrals entered the field and vice versa!

Nobody does chicken like CDFC!

It's no surprise Centrals supporters were excited about getting something free.

Or perhaps enjoying the fact that North's arrogant advertising bit them on the arse?

Crikey, we give you guys a free beer and you still whinge. ;)
Shame on North for trying to get more people to the game, Im the club's biggest critic at times but good on them for trying to get some people south of the poverty line yesterday.

Back to the game, is there any chance I can read about a Central game without Warren Partland's dribble, any chance we could pay a journalist to cover our games from now on (like Zac Milbank)?

Umm no, that's why I used two. :?

Sorry, I'll put the sense of humour away again. :(

Speaking of a sense of humour, how funny was it when one Gowans went off with the blood rule and the other replaced him, had to be there.

The marketing campaign surrounding the "stray dogs" and free beer was an agreed thing between both clubs and the free beer promo will apply when we play at Eliz and if we happen to win then. I am not sure why the Tiser didn't put that in the article as I am led to believe it was going to be mentioned?

Now onto the game - Centrals play at a vry good tempo for 90 percent of the match and capitalise with ruthless efficiency any mistake the opposition makes. They don't ever panic when a team gets a run on aganst them and that is why tempo and pressure must remain consistent all game or for the majority. That's why Centrals are still number 1. The use of small fwds by the dogs vs our taller and sometimes much slower defenders and using that as their main goalscoring option showed the tactical smarts Roy Laird has. Healy just couldn't get the right defensive match ups happening most of the game.

North cannot fall asleep for 10 minute sessions each quarter if it is going to try and match it with the likes of Centrals and the Bays.

Still not that upset with how we went as we had out chances to seize the game but didn't take them. Umpiring not factor as they paid shockers both ways all day.

I suspect Gill will be up with the Crows next week so we will need more from Stewart at FF and the test will be if Baulderstone comes up from the 2's as 2nd ruck.

Normally you can just ignore losing team supporters when they start complaining about the umpires, and yes normally things to kind of balance out, with umpires making errors both ways, BUT I've never heard commentators on 5RPH mention so much that a team was hard done as they did yesterday about North.

I wasn't there so can't add my opinion, and I'm not saying the umpires would have made much difference to the final result but you never know. The commentators on 5RPH are pretty good and I don't think have any axes to grind with either team so were just calling as they saw it.

One of them at half time when they were talking about some of the missed frees even mentioned these things usually balance out over the game but as the game went on things didn't work out that way.

I don't think for a minute there was anything intentional or deliberate about it, but it would seem North supporters may well have reason to complain today

Just curious anyone know what the final free kick count was ?

Centrals definately play the best type of football to watch and is obviously effective.
Seems North are working on that style too but might take awhile to get it right.
I found it amusing that the last team to can Centrals about being old and slow lost the Grand Final to them last year and we get the same thing first game up with a new coach !
Now I see it is a publicity stunt then fair enough if it gets more to the game.

Can you direct me to exactly where Daniel Healey said Central were too old and too slow?
Genuinely curious.
