Left at half time but up until tehn it was a great game of SANFL footy. Both teams were going in hard but fair. Port were always going to be tough on their home deck and their young kids like Shannon and Sumemrton were very good. i think our more mature experienced bodies stood up when it counted - Fisher, Ruwuldt, Backwell and Block in the guts and we got the golas when it counted (listening on radio)

Still a bit of improvement in us yet.

Hall looked good in the 2s and will be a handy in in a couple of weeks once he gets some miles into his legs. Gee he can hit a target.

2-0 with eagles next on their home deck too.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Did the younger Grima brother play in the ressies also? If so how did he look?

talking to a former crows player today he said hall looked miles above the rest of the players out there, but went off injured...does anyone know how good or bad it is ?

what a great game of footy played by both sides, it had everything, hangers from panozzo, & a port player whose name escapes me atm, it was hard, it was tenacious & port will rue another mistake when young barham (who was great all day) had a rush of blood after taking a good mark played on & stuffed it up (son go back & kick the goal) & the bays got the next 3 & won the match, shannon impresses me, waterhouse always looked dangerous but was beaten by mills, to me port look like they are 2 years away from being a top team but can tim last that long ? as for us i thought macconnell, (early), button, hinge, ruwoldt, meyer & block were among the bays best, i did see a few blues by the umpires (both ways) but when they guess a mark after it clearly bounced (happened twice 1-1) that is wrong as you should pay what you see not what you think may have happened

we got the points but for anyone there that was neutral they'd say it was a great game of footy

Despite the loss today and against Norwood last week I still dont think that the Maggies are to far away, clearly not the result that they wanted, yet they will improve significantly this year and I wouldent write them off just yet!

I may hate the result but it was a great gaem of footy. We played almost got a win against one of the best in the comp. I am still spewing about the Barham mark were he played on and was tackled and the bays scored from the rebound. That was they moment that they got away from us.

another gutsy win, port were good nearly all day. Much improved on last year. If they can find another forward other than clive they might play finals. The port fans near me were unimpressed with the umpiring.........thoughts?

i thought the umpires made a few blues they shouldn't have (ie guessed a few) but it was both ways & didn't favour any, ports biggest blunder for the day came from barham who played a great game but when he played on from taking a good mark just outside of the goalsquare & got caught & the ball went up the other end for a goal, he could have put port in front however with that turn-around they were almost 2 goals down & this stopped port in its tracks.....had he kicked it & put port in front ?????? i think they may have won.....the kid will learn that if you have a kick within kicking distance just kick the goal, port may be bottom after 2 rounds but they are far from the worse team in the competition

My bad, haven't posted very often and didn't know how to use the quote very well, I was trying to quote the previous posters comment that Hall had played well. Wasn't able to get to the game myself and was wondering how Grima played

The barham one was the worst but port coughed up plenty of sloppy turnovers late. Best for Glenelg were Panozzo Meyer and Mills . Ports best were Summerton, meikeljohn and dolling.

Dissapointing to be 0-2.

Sounds like it was a fairly good game.
