Not how big he was. How slow he was. He always called him the worlds slowest man.

Good to see footy back tomorrow cannot wait for it.

SCRATCHIN 03 wrote:Tailem went down by 4 points to Torrens Valley, good physical hit out for both sides in hot conditions. Torrens Valley had about 5 out, but had 5 guns in their side, not sure who they were 2 midfielders, 2 forwards and a backman. Tailem had Muffy, Raidis, Comer, linke, Bell, Robertson, Kreuger & Thomas out. I have not seen Tailem play that brand of football for a long time, should be a great game first up againts Mannum at Mannum. Always a fair dinkum contest between these two sides when ever they meet and both sides will be very keen to get the points, so all Tailem and Mannum supporters make sure you get to the game it will be a craker

Went and watch Tailem v Mannum today infront of a good crowd close contest up till 3/4 time with no side getting more than 2 goals infront. 8 goal final quater and tailem gets home by 7 goals. Good players for tailem muffy, comer ( 6 goals ), raidis, vickers, schultz, lynch & hansen ( 3 goals ). Any other results from around the grounds

How did Tailem's recruits go Scratchin? Obviously Comer played well, how about Rankine, Collins, Marks etc.

Also, is Ben Hansen at TB for the year, or will be with Sturt for part of the season?

Would it have anything to do with the "Zero Tolerance" stance towards umpires.

There wasn't 5 yellow cards. I only saw two Sam Mahoney and Daniel Richards. Was pretty close to half time then Imps went bang in the second half. Jervois were very undiscipline in both the B Grade and the A Grade. Very impressive by Imps Jamie Honour kicked 8 at CHF, especially with the Kenny Brothers and Puckridge still to come back in. Play Mypo and Ramblers the two weeks after easter, so will see where they are at, but with what I saw in the second half they will be very hard to beat this year.

Honnor kicked 8 from CHF? He is going to take some stopping this year.

Imps certainly have the side to start favourites and go all the way, although obviously a long way to go yet.

Can't say I was there but was told this from a Jervois player.

On the match report on the Imperials website, it says that Jervois players Schmidt and Cheso also received yellow cards.

GO U BLUE BOYS what a day, Imperials beat Jervois by over 10 goals for the first time in about 6 yrs id have to say
They Imps lads wernt switched on for first quarter either with scores level at quarter time then basicly from then on jervois had the 2 best Fowards in the league up there in Honner and Seyers an it turned out to be one of the dirtiest games of footy i have seen, i was standing at the BBQ an i think i saw 5 yellows, the 4 named have been correct but i couldnt see the 5th i just got told after the game but all of those were for punches an from what i saw Imperials were the Intimaters this time around an got into there head,

It is great to see the Imps recruits on fire from round one, with Hodge (d/Vice Capt) having a career high 41 possies an then tyson wait with 30 odd, it was just great to see the new imperials guernsey out an dominant like it hasnt been in years,

BUT

ITS ONLY END OF ROUND ONE, WE MIGHT BE FAVOURITES BUT THERE IS ANOTHER 14 ROUNDS TO PLAY AND ANOTHER 5 TEAMS TO BEAT.

What the hell happened in the Mypolonga-Ramblers game? The Tigers up by 6 goals at half time, then got beaten by 6 goals? Can anyone report of this who was there?

Good win for the Blues. There was no doubt about the strength of there list and the result highlights this. Probably an expected result, considering from all reports they have had a solid pre-season, recuited well and definately look to be the league front runners, whereas Jervios are apparently on the slide from the powerhouse they once were.

I went out to Mannum to watch the game against Tailem Bend, and I must say I was impressed by the Eagles. There has been a lot of hype about both of these teams, and many consider Mannum as a top 3 contender. From what I saw, both sides are very improved from last season, and it was a bit of a slog for the first half. Quinn had a good first half then was quite. Then Tailem broke the game out and were comfortable winner by 35 points. I was impressed by Muffy, the bloke hasn't lost his touch, Raidis got plenty of kicks, and Lynch showed some great desperation when the game was there to be won. Hogarth gave plenty of drive into the forward line and Shultz on the wing was good, with a bit of dash. The big man Comer bagged 5 or 6 to top off a good day for the Eagles.

I think the positives to come out for Tailem is there best footy is still to come, but still had a comfortbale win. Andrew Coombe, Crunchie Aspel and Adam Robertson all still have to come into the side, and recruit Matt O'Brien who played in the 2s for some reason.

The bad thing for Mannum is there has been a lot of hype surrounding them, they'll be dissapointed with the loss.

I heard that Imps look the deal this year. They have always been around the mark the last 10 years. They would have had great pleasure giving Jervois a Pasting. Jervois on the slide may be the next Meningie.

Grade 3 torn ligaments Yetti, he's having scans tomorrow to double check though.

Unfortunate for Mannum as he had kicked 3.6 to half time and was playing quite well apparently
