clg are not that good, especially without the crichtons, visser and harvey for the majority. the heinrich lad will be playing on one leg, and will probably do his knee again in rd 1 (i sincerely hope he doesn't) but his knees are on their way out if they aren't already. The rest of the team is made up of lads who are only of average, or some perhaps slightly above average football ability. time till tell though, good first up hit-out agianst hectorville.

I hear that Dave and Shaun Johnston have signed for Paralowie. Good pick ups if true. They should dominate at that level

not sure if u watched any clg games last year but the crichtons did nothing for the majority of the year and only kept their spots cause their dad was the coach..visser is a big loss but he didnt win every game for them last year..and if the rest of the team is made up of only average players then you must be saying that there are some below average footballers making up a grade sides in other teams

What is wrong with harvey to be out for the majority? Lets be honest there is some very good players in teams and there is some very ordinary players in teams (thats why 1 team wont dominate) depth will be the key. CLG will be very strong and my prediction for the team to beat, but to say that no team will get close is a bit full on.

By the way bookworm, I have seen B.Wilson play many times (and played with him for years) and he is someone to keep on your radar for sure. Don't want to talk him up too much cos he should let his playin ability do the talking but yeah hes a bit of a goal sneak! That said, he does need to lose a considerable amount of weight but it is only A-6's.....by the way hes not the only new dude that may make an impression in the league this season, few other handy young men that have come out on the track late!

Spot on. Swash-buckling utility Paul James is in the mix for rd 1. Will add a certain element of hardness to the new-look Glenunga side, has a touch of class about him too. More than handy acquisition, i believe he is only 22 and has played 70 odd A-Grade GSFL games. Looked great on the track this week.

Paul James or 'Jonesy' is one of the most underated midfielders I have had the pleasure of playing with or against. He's only a little fella but gives as much as he gets and won't back down from any situation.

I heard a little whisper that he has had a big pre-season and will run out all 4 quarters on the ball.

Bodie Wilson will be the Diesel Williams of Div 6.

Glenunga v Brahma Lodge - Only just - BL by 9 points
Central United v Mitchell Park - the McDonnell brothers will trouble CU - MP by 42 points
Hectorville v Colonel Light Garden - Very tough one - think both teams will be up there in 09 - Heccies by 12 points
Paralowie v Lockleys - Lockleys looked reasonable at times in their trial against HV - would have a number of players out that day. Paralowie unknown in this Div at this stage - 14 points
Trinity OS v West Croydon - Should also be a good game, but Trinity at home should be too strong - 33 points.
I'm proud of you fellas. You all kept your head on a swivel, and that's what you gotta do when you find yourself in a vicious cock fight!

Glenunga v Brahma....Draw. Both have outsanding recruits if you believe what you read so cant split them.
Central United V Mitchell Pk......Mitchell pk by plenty if Mcdonnels play, they will have a day out.
Hectorville V CLG.......CLG too strong for them Heccies will struggle this year.
Paralowie v Lockleys.....Paralowie at home just. Lockleys are very even team but stille need a dominant forward to stand up.
Trinity V West Croydon.....Unsure about Trinitys about recruits, if they have improved they will win most home games. West Croydon have recruited well wth some new and old faces, interestd to see how they gel. West Croydon just.

I guess we'll find out a bit tomorrow, hopefully its just a solid, fair game between rivals Glenunga and the lodge. Might also keep an eye on B. Thompson, also recruited from down south. Apparently, he is a hard running tall utility that can hold down a key position. Word has it he has burned up the track for a good part of 2 months now, but is currently battling shin splints which may keep the reigns on him for the first month or so. Dissapointing, cos hes the sort of eye-catching player needed around an up and coming Glenunga.

I agree that a lot of BS has been said for ages, and the first bounce couldnt come any sooner, Im a big believer of people letting their game do the talkin, we'll soon find out which new players are good!

Glenunga v Brahma Lodge
Central United V Mitchell Park
Hectorville V CLG
Paralowie v Lockleys
Trinity OS V West Croydon

Honestly have no idea, but most footy tipping comps are won by people who have no idea, so I could be in for 5 out of 5!!
