My early season predictions:

UNITED - Cause I'm biased :D
HUMMOCKS - Added to last years winning squad. Midfield depth might be their weakness with no Barnes, Wilson x2 or Guthberg and no replacements as yet.
BALAKLAVA - Kids are 1 year older. They are a tall side and are ultra fit at the moment.
MALLALA - Will still be good but lost a ruckman and CHF. Not sure if these are replaced yet.
TWO WELLS - Will start the season off superbly cause of their fitness but will go missing come July/August as usual.
VIRGINIA - Don't know much about them but not all their cleared players can play A Grade. Not much depth so once injuries hit them they will be tested.
HAMLEY BRIDGE - Will be stronger than last year and win a few games. Are heading in the right direction though.

All in all though I see this as a very tight season shaping up with every team able to beat every other team. I don't think there is a lot between each side and should be a cracker of a season.

Mail Medal - Lee Allmond
Leading Goalkicker - Hayden Walker

All this being said I'm sure I will be way off the mark as usual.

Hummocks = not far off replacing losses I reckon
Mallala = pretty similar to last year, I think they have a new ruckman too
United = big losses but some big replacements, will they gel?
Balak = A bit of a raffle, Shear size will win games.
Hamley = New blokes looked good in trials, fierce competition for A-Grade spots will make a healthy change
Virginia = We only know a couple of their new recruits? Have also lost a fair few. Will they gel?
Wells = Coach will get best out of them, their pace always surprises even the best sides.

Goalkicking = Burgess or Thomas

Medal = 1st = M. Young
2nd = T. Smith

Couple of Johnstons cleared from Virginia to Paralowie, along with a string of A/B graders going to Amateur clubs. What's going on TwoGood? Did the 2 Johnstons realise they wouldn't be getting a game due to import numbers?

I see Hummocks have now recruited Simon Schwartz from Barossa as well to probably play full back. With all of these player payments being handed out on a Saturday night I hope they have enough money left over to water the oval(s). :shock:

Somehow I dont think watering the oval is their priority based on its current condition .

Recruiting fullbacks hey, wonder what the Jack thinks about that ](*,) :axe:

New lad originating from Streaky Bay over here for uni. Played at Barossa districts last season. Played pretty well in the trial on Saturday. Coaches tried him in various positions including ruck and up forward to see what he was capable of and will play A grade based on his performance last week. Should comfortably fill the void of Moffatt.

Are you referring to the condition of the oval Swamp? Would you please explain to the jury how you have come to this conclusion, keeping in mind you probably haven’t been any closer to the oval than the highway since about July last year?

Blow me down and call me Dusty. A united committee member having a crack at another club for paying players! HWE only have three imports, that’s if the so called full back, that played on the wing in the trial, actually plays. Word is some passionate supporters (diplomatic) from Barossa Districts are putting the pressure on him so stay there by pulling work from him if he leaves. Gotta love the mentality of some clubs.
So what ever payments are made will not be close to the payments made this year and every other by United. Don’t get me wrong I appreciate that United must pay big money to get players out to a town with a population of about 30 in the middle of nowhere but think about your posts before you put them up brain freeze. By the way, you goin to the pub tonight? :D

Settle down Princess! I was more having a crack at the condition of the oval(s). Every club pays players mate so there's no need to get so defensive about it unless there is something to be embarrassed about.

Might be able to drop in for a couple if your up for it. Nothing too big though, got a trial tomorrow.

He played full forward for BD in a trial against Kilburn but apparently is a wingman who has put on a bit of weight recently. Seems like a nice bloke.

Are HWE stocking up before the points system comes in?
