I was just wondering North have signed two pretty good (well, one that we KNOW is good) recruits in the past two seasons.

I was wondering why someone of Nick Prokopec's stature and now Russ Tucker would sign with them?

How were they enticed to the club? From what I've heard North doesn't offer match payments to all their players but are they offering big sums for these guys do you think?

Roopena and West are known for forking out, North not so much, although the question can be asked now, are they now more financial than they have been in the past?

Couldnt really tell you if they are offering heaps of cash.
Dont know how much a Russell Tucker would be getting paid at North's
What im hearing is that they are doing well on and off the field and there is alot of harmony down there which all goes well for the players i think.
Roo's seem to have forked out a bit more this year but West are fairly quiet at the moment.

It seems these days every team needs to fork out a bit of cash other wise you will fall behind the pack unless you have a really good junior programm.
This is why i think West Whyalla have chased some quality juniors so that in the future they will have a very strong team that is not dependable on splashing the cash around

Nick Prokopec had a good season with North Whyalla last year bagging 80-odd goals.

He is still there this season.

Nick Warren allegedly signed with Roopena from what I was told on the weekend. He is destroying the rest of the team on the track and looking extremely fit.

James Van Hoof went out to the Spencer Hotel on Friday night for the first time.

Would have been a wake-up call for him.

If anyone out there knows James, can they confirm he looks a hell of a lot like Kurt TIppett?

Combination of the hair and the poofter goatee just speaks volumes. Lol.

Word is Trent "Turkey" Place smashed Beaty's head into a car ariel, taking a long gash out of his forehead.

People in the Norths camp were hailing it as the best thing Trent has ever accomplished.

*NEWS FLASH*

Because of the state of Bennett, the WFL have decided that no football will be played there until January,

...instead all games scheduled at Bennett will be played on Nick Prokopec's Jaw.

Just wondering how people think Round 1 will go this week
Starting with Centrals V Bays on Friday night ? I think the bays to win by 4 goals
Then Roo's V South's ? I think this will be closer than i first thought but Roo's by 22 points
Finally West V North ? Another close one but North by 17 points
Your thoughts people !!!!!

Bays should get up. Centrals are traditionally slow-starters.

If Roos get a full side on the park, should win. Agree, should be close.

Westies had a great pre-season. Like their chances of a round one upset.

Weeroona Bay flogged North in round 1 last year, Bays only won one more game and North didn't lose too many after that and won the flag.

I got no idea so here ya go - Central, Roopena and North.

Put your money on the other 3. :)
