What are the thoughts on the cricket grandfinals on saturday?

I think SES have come good at the right time and have far too much experience for LS who have 4 juniors playing. The only was LS can win is if stalwards Orch, Symonds or Riedy have a day out with the bat. but SES have them covered and are more consistant and bat a lot deeper.
In the b grade I think it will be a flip of the coin.

What happened to the WCC in the finals. looks like a few of dads army should get out the moth balls in both grades!

I just signed up for footy tippinng at the PL Hotel and each time I put in my tips I get a free beer at the bar each week. $22 for the whole season with sportspick so I have the chance to win big nationally. that is a good deal.

Port Magpies have had the cull they had to have and unfortunately 4 EP lads have been cut from the training list last Wed night. They are Glen, Dorza, Keasty and Jed Durdin (also one Adelaide lad)
Can't speak for the others but Glen has said they told him he has only been cut from the training list, not the squad. He is still covered under their medical and can still use their gym facilities (which he is doing 3 times per week) to assist in his recovery.
What this boils down to is that when he recovers fully and can play (he will line up with Port Districts in Amateur League) and if his form warrants it he can be reincluded back into the training list so the door is left open for him.
I believe the same applies to Dorza who has osteo pubis. (Virginia for him when he's ready)
Keasty I think is going elsewhere to play. Jed not sure about
Whopper not picked this week in the reserves and is playing for South Gawler when not playing for the Port Magpies.
Shannon picked in the league squad of 25 for this weeks game. Well done
Tyson Wait left Port and is playing for Murray Bridge
That's all I know about apart from reading those other EP lads who have been named in the league and reserves for this weekend's match

Glen is disappointed but understanding of their decision and is still going to give it a crack whether it be later this year after recovery or next year. He might have a spur on his ankle which may require another op to get it removed.

That's the update for those of you who might have heard something around town so thought it best to get on here and let you all know the story.

See you at the footy tonight - might be an interesting match.

well done to the SES b-grade side and Noggsy for his innings.

I watched the a-grade game and thought we would win for sure leading up to the day but when we only posted 136 i was concerned. early wickets cost us but Jules Doudle showed grit to post a competative score. The pitch was slow and I thought about 150 was par. Souths only have 3 and a half batsmen and when we had orchard and symons early i thought we were a show but riedy and stoetzer played well. Tuffy dropping that catch hurt.
The wayback players I was sitting with on the hill were amazed that stiffy wasn't brought on when symons fell as the only thing standing in the way was riedy and stoetzer, with no batting to come. Fridge, Pertz and Kav bowled poorly during this period and by the time Stiffy re-appeared the 2 batsmen were set.

How did you pull up after the game last night livefooty? remember giving me a spray on the field? ;)

Shall we deliver you the Cup now?

It was high standard game and both sides will clearly be pushing for a top 4 spot. Marble Range were lucky to win in the end.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

You'd host a Grand Final party for finishing third?

The only team that cares will be the eventual winner... And they'll only care after the final siren...
You'll be there next week UA?
