Current Coopers Ads

Postby JK » Thu Mar 26, 2009 11:14 am

Not sure if this belongs here, but hopefully so ..

Coopers are currently running a series of Radio Ad's that have a grass-roots theme to them, and the one at the minute features (and I hope I get this name right) Ian "Mudguts" Oswald from the North Adelaide Footy Club.

I cannot get enough of hearing this ad ... For mine it focusses on what footy clubs are, and have always been about - the people!

I know at my club, there are some famous volunteer names to have spanned the decades (Tiger Potts for example) and I reckon these people deserve as much recognition as they can get, even though that's not what they've set out to achieve!

Ian "Mudguts" Oswald, I salute you!!!

(PS: You just can't beat the yarns the old blokes at footy clubs can spin :D )

Looking forward to hearing the next installment with Barry MacDonald from the Doggies, who spent some time talking to Cornes and Rowe tonight .. I seriously can't crap on enough about how much I enjoy hearing from or about, the true stalwarts of any club whether it be AFL, SANFL, Ammo's or country, doesn't matter.

And sounded as though he would do it all again in a heartbeat mate, like he enjoyed it all and none of it was a chore.

PS: What ya reckon Coopers aim is with this serious of ads ... Got their eyes on potential sponsorship of the SANFL one day?

Yeah, he would. Loves helping kids footy, has had numerous offers to assist the league side but prefers to help development squads and go to the league for a beer.

Regarding Coopers, you'd hope so, be great to down a few pales at more than one local ground! But then we'd lose the chimney, wouldn't be the same tucked out at Regency Park.

Have often wondered why Coopers dont open a factory outlet at their site at regency road even as a drive through, even if they matched their prices to what the local bottle'os are charging it would enable you to be able to access all the really rare stuff they make which is hard to get otherwise!

Now that you mention it, I honestly can't recall the last time I took any notice of it. Most SANFL Grand Finals for the past decade have been anti-climactic.

Staggeringly, they ran out of pale ale. Luckily, there was still plenty of lager to work through.

A great day and great promotion run by Coopers, Glen & Dr Tim both stayed the whole afternoon. Glen is not afraid to sample his own brew. Champion bloke.
