Yeah I think the 1st week might be pretty straight forward for the Sunday games however isn't it great 2 have 2 GENUIONE finals on the Saturday....there will be huge crowds at both and some fearce and skilled football with big names on the park for all four sides. Cove to beat Morphies Gossip is that your smokey for the 1st week.
Gee i just can't see that happening......funny enough Morphett Vale has been the side that has knocked Cove out the finals the last 2 years first in a semi in 04 then prelim last year. Whats your thoughts behing that tip gossip?

It all starts this week.
Porties v Reynella
Morphies v Cove
Valleys v Lonsdale
Brighton v flaggies

First two games should be belters, with the winners going straight into the prelim's and enjoy a weeks rest

I'l go with:
Porties
Morphies
Valleys
Brighton

2 x 'grey area' games in Port V Reynella and MorphetVale V Cove which could go either way if all teams are switched on. The Valley would want to play a hell of a lot better than they did against Porties but shouldn't have too much difficulty with Lonsdale (perhaps they could consider NOT fielding their recent Super Rules lineup for the finals). Brighton haven't been overly convincing but have had a lot of injury strife...that said they also should handle Flaggies without any difficulty - sorry matteeG! )

Fire up lads, 2 biggest games of the year this week on the Saturday and hardly boo on them......

Your tips, your thoughts and which players are going to step up in these big games and perform for there clubs ......Name some!!!!!

One thing im surprised with is the venues for both Saturday's games......Why would you have a qualifying final at Aldinga or old Norlunga for that matter......all the way down there????? Surely both Sunday finals would of been better all the way down there and the Satuday ones at Porties and Bice....closer for everyone concerned and both would of been packed to the rafters.....

Tips
Morphies - to experienced this time of year very few weaknesses (if any) Will be a belter of a game though
Reynella - I think Porties rely on too few to do the job (will get found out)
Happy Valley - Easily 10 goals plus
Flagstaff Hill - Upset of the finals, young hungry kids with nothing to lose, Bice oval will suit Flaggy better than there own ground

Jono,

Why wouldn't they play it at Noarlunga, one of if not the best decks in the league fair amount of parking. Its a 2 min drive further from porties / c beach.

Oh does anyone know if the GF is to be played at south again or if it will be back to porties?

Blustery conditions like today could see a few upsets, only takes one good 1/4 with / against the wind.

Results

Postby hacksville » Tue Sep 05, 2006 8:17 am

Reynella 13-11 (89) def. Port Noarlunga 8-9 (55)
Morphett Vale 24-14 (158) def Cove 10-10 (70)
Happy Valley 14-14 (98 ) def. OSB/Lons 4-9 (33)
Brighton 17-16 (118) def Flaggstaff Hill 6-6 (42)

All comfortable victories but should be some close games this week, i reckon Valley just over Porties and Cove also in a thriller.............

I reckon Porties to bounce back and beat Valley and Cove to account for Brighton comfortably.

News just in, Valleys rolled Porties by about 4 goals.
Cant be happy getting put out in straight sets. Playing too many easy games throughout the year may have been there downfall. Sets up a ripper of a prelim. Morphies v Valley. Anyone know where its being played??
