i would have thought playing on the full forward might have been closer. ;)

I believe payney has a squad of about 30 players that he believes could play a grade this year. I believe he will play all these guys saturday and maybe help him pick his side for round 1. I think it maybe be a bigger hit out for the b graders as they have only really played 6 quarters of footy. No disrespect to north pines, i wish them all the best of luck in 2009. I honestly can not wait for the next 12 sleeps. Its starting to get exciting again.

ok for the sake of a slow idiot like me i'm guessing you dont think brahma are all that? and CLG are? as i sais i must be abit slow lol

No Brahma looked ok, CLG just looked very sharp. I'm not saying that because they touched us up, I think anyone that watched them play us from any club on Saturday night would agree. I know a few mates of mine from other leagues on the sideline said they were very impressed. We did make them look better than what they actually were tho ;) We looked like a side who had'nt played a match yet. Good news for both teams was no serious injuries that I saw. Imho they are the team to beat by quite a bit if Brahma are the favorites to finish top, food for thought........

Isnt it only realy the Brahma blokes pumping their own tyres?

I guess if coming on here and saying that we think were going to have a better year then the previous couple is blowing our own tyres then your correct. I don't think to many BL players have come on here and said we are going to be a powerhouse. We are aiming for finals like most clubs i'm guessing and if we make it to the finals we will take it from there.

if payne thinks hes got 30 players who can play a grade then i think the depth may not be there if injuries hit, clg had something like 42 blokes play a grade footy last year and we wernt beaten by more then 5 goals all year, 8 or 9 injuries, few suspensions, few unavailable here and there and the depth well and truely gets tested

Scottroo, that is what i am saying. Payney has 30 blokes who he believes can contribute to the A grade side this year. He is trying to find out now just where they all fit in to the team and how we will go in round 8 or 10 when we have 6 out injured 2 suspended ( i really hope none) and 3 unavaliable. there goes 11 players out of your side and now only left with 19 from the origional 30. For a lot of these players this is there first or second chance to show payney that they belong in the A grade side round 1 and beyond.

After having a chat with payney over the weekend, i will publicly say that all payney wants to do this year is make the final five. CLG, Trinity, Paralowie are all teams that have played together for a few yaers now are clearly the flag favourites. Brahma lodge is just looking to be competitive with the next level teams, hectorville, west croydon, lockleys. I will honestly say that we go in to the season, in a lot of people mind, as the team to beat but we are far from that and you only need to look around at the teams that are talking up Brahma Lodge's chance to see these are the teams that will do well in div 6 in 2009.

To all the boys on here come and have a chat during the season. I will be wearing no.15 and playing a lot of my footy in the back half and will only be to happy to find out the face behind the name. But its your shout.

who have trinity gained this year and from where? i personally wouldnt put them as flag favourites. they lacked a big forward last year but both games i played against them, they were impressive.

Im not sure you've done your homework to well if you think Lockeys are a next level team. Have recruited very nicely and not lost to many. Many of there better players are yet to even play a trial. And i'm sure after seeing Heccies last year they will be around the mark for top 3. May take a few games for all teams to hit there straps though i'm thinking.

My mail is that visser wont play the most of the year or maybe at all due to work commitments at the car yard on saturdays, although he has been training any CLG people confirm or deny this?? If so would be a fair loss.

IMO -

Lockleys and CLG will end up #1 and #2.

Then the remainder of the top 5 will be BL, Heccies and Paralowie.
