Sweet, if our Sect 4 side gets up over Keswick we would get a home GF.

Anyone got the score from Plympton v Keswick, heard Plympton made 226.

Plympton made 224...... Batted very well on a slow ground.... Just gotta make sure they back it up tommorrow... Will be a very interesting game of cricket tomoz....
Warradale V morphy's game should be a ripper tomoz, a tussle between two ''A'' grade sides....

Congratulations to Bazza and Bulldogs007 for the two dumbest posts of the year. Look at the match Bulldogs and you will notice that the two blokes who came into WYC played no major part in the win. Enjoy sect 2 Bazza. No time for sore losers on here.

Sore losers? Haha.

You sir, are a tool, always have been, always will be. Absolute disgrace that your boys decided to quit on a game because Clipsal was on. Shows absolute no respect for WYC or the competition as a whole. Sounds like most things are "too hard, dont try".

Ok guys, no doubt it is that time of the year when things get a bit heated.

Lets just keep things civil and enjoy some discussion about the up coming Grand Finals.

sheidow park may have left hackham without a spot in the grand final but we didn't leave without respect...we pushed the game on for 139 overs which is a credit to our extremely young side. we may have finished 4th but we are certainly not the 4th best team!!! hopefully next year we can have a bit more luck go our way with injuries, injuries that still effected us on the weekend with harvey and cooke playing on broken feet, foster did his back in saturday and effected him sunday playing a lazy cut shot to berry 1st ball and caught behind and myself struggled all day saturday with a broken thumb. sharks were just too good on the weekend but if we held catches saturday it could have been a very different story.
well done to ben cameron who came into his own with a confidence boosting 25 and something to take into next year!!! also cooke and j.mccormack bowled very well towards the end of the year and if they can stay fit next season will be a strong opening attack next year.
i dont care what anyone else says brendan mccormack is on par with ledgard as the best batsmen in the association! macca and i didnt pick up a cricket bat untill october... looking forward to a long pre season with him this year and actually preparing for next season properly

good luck to our d's and f's this week! and GO THE WESTERN YOUTH BULLS!!!! YEW!

Oh god are you serious, I've seen much worse here.

Guess they better take "Before the Game" off the air! OOooer can't call someone a tool.

And I've yet to see AF reply, so he might not take offense to the comment. You never know, he might quit on the forum because the heat is getting a little too hot in here.

Good luck to all in the finals, I won't be able to congratulate any of you when you win because I'll be banned for calling a tool a tool. Meh!!

My 2008/09 side:

1. Brendan McCormack (Sheidow)
2. Jake Whenan (Western Youth)
3. David Sampson (ICC Sharks)
4. Rusty Curyer (vc) (Keswick)
5. Robert Hopkins (c) (Western Youth)
6. Greg Pritchard (Plympton)
7. Ben McCormack (wk) (Western Youth)
8. Daniel Rowe (Glenelg ANA)
9. Matthew Tonkes (ICC Sharks)
10. Adam Berry (ICC Sharks)
11. Mark O'Malley (Glenelg ANA)

12th Man: Bharat Roocke (Morphy Parks) 36 wickets at 5.42 SR of 14.69 (88.1 overs bowled econ of 2.21) batting: 11 games, 7 innings, 4 not outs, 1 not out, best score of 100* and 168 runs at 56.

To me thats a good year and he is playing in there highest grade and is doing this all as captain.

Honorable mention to Justin Smoker from Mitchell Park for his efforts with the ball.

So there is a quick bowling line up of O'Malley, Rowe, Tonkes, Hopkins, Sambo with Pritchard and CUryer bowling meds, and Calderbank thoroughly deserving the slow bowling spot.
Sambo Hopkins and Curyer, all have wickets and bowl, but there in because of there batting and there bowling is just helpful. Pritchard has been plymptons standout and his all round year has got him his spot.

That would be my side with Ford missing out to McCormack only because of where they would bat in this side. Berry deserves the spinners spot becuase despite taking a good amount of wickets, 23 i think, and has also been good with the bat and adds to what is a very strong tail.

how can ford miss out and mccormack get the gig as keeper? the only reason i had mccormack keeping is because i think it would be easier having the opening bat fielding but think mccormack should be in at 7. berry in my view with 25 wickets, and 236 at 26. calderbank deserves the spot and cant drop ford for wat he has done, and wat berry has done!!!

and for the bloke laughing at calderbank, he has taken 31 wickets at 11.13 and an economy rate of 2.34! thats a cracking year!

i'm with shoe boy on this one. it's a blight on the competition.

Can you say in your heart of of hearts that you are completely happy with the decision on saturday? Did you guys decide as a group? Cricket is a funny game AF as you know, anything can happen, a few quick wickets on the second day and things change, especially when you have 80 overs to play with. I think it sends the wrong message to the young blokes in your club.
Take last week as example, we lost outright to you guys, were 7/21 at one stage against Glenelg, manage to scrape 91 runs together, asked the lads to show a bit of character, get some self respect back, took Glenelg 30 odd overs to get our runs, and then we batted them out of the finals. We didnt win but the lads felt that bit better about themselves. Self respect AF.
By the way mate Im not a sore loser, but I think the Cricket Gods might have shed a tear on Saturday night :(

If i was a ramblers player i would be disgusted, especially if i was a batsmen..... to lose 5 wickets in a very short period of time and for buggar all runs... Do they know, they actually have to hit the red bal.lol....... Poor form!!!!!!

Expected more from you, JB. Disappointing comment.

The other points - some are fair, some are woeful. Everyone loves to kick a team when they're down, you've got to expect that. Saying we're a disgrace, blight on the comp, dark day for cricket blah blah blah. Make your own minds up.

Pretty short memories for you all if you don't remember having 1 bad day. That's what we had, it was a shocker. We're embarrassed by it. No excuses, we just had a very poor day at the worst time of the year.

With all of that as well, you're taking a lot away from WYC by just talking about "what a disgrace" we were. They're a very good side who knows how to play finals cricket. Hopefully we learn a bit from how they went about it so we can come back next year. Good luck to them in the GF this week - just wish it were us.

The quality of chat in here is pretty much in the gutter when you have to have a go at other teams/clubs to make yourself feel better about your club or how you went personally. And with that, I'm out of here, it's really not worth it.

Good luck to the rest of the teams this week in the big one.
