i dont follow rugby but have been told over the past few season they allow that if a player is going for a touch down that the defending team/players can stop the try by jumping or sliding feet first towards the player trying to score? how dangerous is this? :roll: , and have seen some tackles made this way on news reports aswell? who the hell made this rule?

The NRL has cracked down on this practise BD.
A South Sydney player was cited for this last weekend in their loss to Parramatta.
You are right about its danger as player tended to connect with a player rather than the ball, sometimes not accidently.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

yeah seen that. Dont the NRL have people that sit near the interchange gates and watch whom comes on or off like AFL?

the player in question was taken off on the other side of the ground for treatment and didnt know he was replaced when he came back on i believe
