why should he though if the coach has rang him and basicly begged himto play!
he is doing the coach and club a favour so shouldnt have to play!
if he didnt the team might have had to forfeit costing the cash money!
technically he has saved them cash, now they want to make money off him!

Mate, I see your point but we are not talking $100's or $1000's of dollars here. $20-$50 isn't going to kill anyone is it? If you fill in for 1 or 2 games maybe but 8 is a bit different.

Someone i know had a clearance rejected due to owing their previous SAAFL club money

Unusually no figure was stated on clearance form

This player played 8 games last year in a C grade side without training once, only played coz coach called and pretty much begged him to play.

Was told more than once to not worry about fees coz itl be takin care of! And not once was asked to pay 1c

What is this players rights here? In regards to gettin this clearance through

As previous stated, this person is in bit of a bind. The club can hold him because the can site that no subs were payed. But as Keepitreel stated your mate will have learnt a pretty good life lession. DONT TRUST ANYBODY.
I guess its going to be all about talking with the club, and prehaps paying some of the fees alledgey owed. Also for god sakes whatever is agree upon get it in writing!

If the coach was an honest man of his word he'd approach the club & defend the player in question's reasons for playing ( helping out a begging coach ) & demand the club clears him asap.
The club has to take into account where would the club have been if this bloke decided not to don the boots?
It would of cost them ( the club ) alot of money forfeiting games week after week.
Let us know the footy club, maybe shaming them may make them react quicker.
I hope its not my club, i'd be p....d off if it is.

at my last club c grade was made to pay 10 per week as fees are like 220 per year but like 14 games. as someone said before speak to the pres and plead your case shouldnt be a problem surely they can be reasonable would have just come from the secretary who just sees your name on paper surely

Well after many non-returned phone calls, i was forced to call the league to get the footy directors number to get it sorted! And after only playin 7 odd games in C grade i was forced to pay Full $110 membership over phone by credit card this evening or i wasnt goin to get cleared.

Im glad i will have no further dealings with this fckin club! Good Riddance
