Spoke to a few Glenunga lads last night they seem like they are enjoying pre season. Although they seemed a little short in the hight department they had about 17 on the track, I am told thursdays are better due to some guys having other sports on tuesdays. What the general thought on this club and group?

17  . Don't all these recruits train?? With only 3 weeks till the season proper the coach must be worried if they aren't even getting enough to fill one team to a training session.

Trainings certainly seem to be hitting their straps at the right time, as they should.
We aare lacking height, but the fitness of the lads has improved tenfold from last year. Unlike last year, where we ran out of legs in the 2nd half, it'll be a different story in '09.

Tuesdays are notorious for small numbers..... It is of concern, however we do have quite a few secured for the season who haven't been able to make it out to training.

Seen one guy that was a real stand out but was not wearing a traing jumper like the rest of the group jimmy any reason for that?
Another big concern for the club that seems to be trying to rebuild with little to no funds would be Thompson who went in half way through the session with a driver issue.

The bloke not wearing a training jumper was Shane Fox, came out to training as he is good mates with Brad Thompson. Not sure whether he is sewn up or not, would be very handy, but at this stage i think he trained due to convenience after work - but we're definitely working on getting his signature. He was certainly a class above in all aspects of training and is the natural leader the club needs. Is mind-boggling to think how much he would dominate this league. Whether we get his services or not remains to be seen, but will go to all lengths, and exhaust all options in a bid to get him out there.

Thompson's driver issue is a bit of a worry, but with a few weeks to go til rd 1, it's better to get him off the track and make sure he is right for the first real hit-out. We all know he has the fitness and skills so missing 1/2 a training session os no big deal for a player like him.

Satday, 2pm at TheBarton? I might have to head down and check it out. CLG are playing Kennilworth at 5pm at Kennilworth Satday too so might have to check that one out as well.

Starting to sound like some clubs may as well not suit up this season. Might leave the kit in the car and take up fishing!
