If anyone is interested in changing clubs next season i recomend NEK, i've been there for 4 years now and i live in the Adelaide Hills, i could play up there no worries but they are a great bunch at NEK, that's why i don't mind driving an hour twice a week for training and games. I don't know of many other clubs that stay around till late every thursday and saturday getting on the cans and organising social events (gentlemans night is awesome!!!!) Just a thought anyway if anyone is disgruntled at their current club. sa@flamestop.com.au
NEKCC I Wouldn't Play Anywhere Else If You Paid Me!!!

Lord knows Ingle Farm lacking some decent talent thats for sure! Raving on coz they knocked kilburn on the weekend when kilburn had half a side ahaha ive seen IF side they shitzenhousen, id go as far as to say we wouldnt even let em in churches

You can only beat who you play. IF 8/251 Kilburn 104. That's not a win that's a thrashing. IF ended up 6th in A2 with 6 wins 4 losses and a draw. Good season and looking to improve next year. Plenty of young talent, so if anyone wants to jump on board?

That would be a younger Scott Brown, when captaining. With the run up back to the boundary and the breathing thing on his nose.
If i remember correctly we had brian Grieger maybe that did the majority of the bowling that day with browny.
I remember that day like it was yesterday, not the most enjoyable one had in the field.

Here's a hypothetical question for all of you:

Para Vista As made 343 last week.
Suppose NE Knights are 9/90 at 4pm on Saturday and it starts to rain. The umpires offer the batsmen to go off and of course they accept. No further play is possible on the day.

According to my understanding of the official Match Rules, NE Knights then become premiers since the match ends in a draw and they were the higher ranked team in the minor round. Nowhere does it state that the match should be completed on another day.

Do people think that this is fair? What should happen in cases like this?

All I know is that whatever happens, the exec committee will be blamed for everything. ;)

Thats right he had that nose splitter thing. Did he also wear a australian cricket top before the game?. To be honest i dont remember much of batting on the day. I can remember getting 2 cartons of beer for hitting 2 sixes onto the club rooms roof

Para Vista have been the benefactors of wet weather AND hot weather in Grand Finals in the past. It's because we finished higher on the premierhsip table than our opposition. As somebody correctly noted in another 'Regional Cricket Comps' thread, it's what you play 12-14 games for during the year, otherwise you'd draw friggin' straws in March to see who played off in the Granny! The rules are there for all to see. How can you complain about it when it is in black & white?? Sure, you can blame others and complain about it every opportunity you get for the next 12mths, but it doesn't change a thing. :D

I guess my 2 questions are :

a) What is the spare day set aside for if it's not to complete a Grand Final match?? :?
b) How ridiculous is it to set a Monday aside for the 'spare' day?!??

Cmon Goatie, stop complaining about people complaining.

The Monday spare day is obvious. Its so you can take your program into work and tell the boss you wont be in on Monday because of your GF, when really your still celebrating/drinking/recovering from the saturday night.

Stop complaining about me complaining about people complaining.. ;)

The 'sickie' is a great Aussie institution and would be the most appropriate form of paid leave for Monday cricket Finals.. ;)

And Browny still wears that Aussie ODI top on an all-too-regular basis, but his run-up has more than halved since then.. Older & wiser.. ;)
