It's a pity they couldn't get his older brother, Geez he's a tough nut to run in to.
Goes by the name of Brick Wall

Is this new Ramblers recruit any good? What position does he play?

I did hear a story on the weekend that a certain club may lose a prize recruit prior to the end of June, possibly going overseas or moving interstate.

I think Smitty played alright, but he did have a few injuries. His work takes up a lot of his time as he is constantly travelling, so I dunno how many trainings or games he missed because of it. Where's he looking at playing?

Yeah I saw him there, sitting with the coaching staff.

Was walking around fine and some of the lads think he'll make a quicker than usual recovery. They are tipping he'll play about round 10. Would be good for the Eagles if he did.

Drama wrote:I went out to watch Tailem Bend's trail match on Saturday. Very impressed with what I saw.

They played Phos, a Div 2 side and were rather competitive, in pretty awful weather.

Raidis played well, gathering a few touches and Hogarth is a goer. Was in everything. Impressed by Lynch, Vickers and Aspel. As well as young Linde.

And from what I can gather, Tailem played pretty well without the likes of Muffy Kartinyeri, Shane Comer, Adam Robertson, Brad Bell, Michael Thomas, new bloke O'Brien and Jason Marks- who were all unavalible to play.

The boys, understrengthed, played pretty well and only lost by about 5 goals to quality opposition. Only a trial, but some good signs.

Heard the week before tailem got convinceably beaten by strath. maybe denty is only there for his previous playing 'ability' not coaching skills. are all there recruits really that good?

Got to see most of the TB V Strath game and it looked like Tailem improved a fair bit especially when strath pumped them the year before. I would hardly say 6 goals is a convincing win in a trial game. From all reports tailem had about 11/12 of their A Graders out with 6/7 still missing from the PHOS trial on the weekend. Dent has coached a SAAFL Div 2 flag prior to Tailem so give the bloke some credit. Has some good cattle this year including a couple of big blokes so i can't wait to see how they go.

I heard that round 10 for Sumner would be very optimistic.

Chiko a definite at Mannum.

Waite back at Imperials.

Chiko would be about 35?? now. Hasn't played for a while, and plagued by injuries. As good as he is, i wonder if he'll be a worthwhile investment for Mannum. Presumably a zero pointer, thats one positive i guess.

Also heard that Meningie have picked up a couple of players from the South East, one was from Mt Gambier, sorry don't know names & clubs.

But hopefully they can recruit a few good players to be competitive.
