Quiney and White in.

Symonds the pick of the bowling

By a long way too. He has bowled really well.

Watched the highlights on Fox and it was Hopes who was pick of the bowlers for mine. Roy got the figures but Hopes was massive all day.

REB

You watched the hilights and i watched the whole days play. Symonds was easily the pick of the bowlers.

Agreed..

Hopes bowled well but if you watched the full days play Symonds was the best bowler and quite comfortably in the end IMO.

I wish I had a blank DVD ready before lunch, because they were discussing the 96 Final and showed the last ball of it, then the celebrations afterwards. :(

And I don't think there is much doubt this will end in a draw, another rain delay with Victoria 6/346.

6/397 at tea on day 3. Yet another delay for rain and I think it's possible we won't even see a first innings result the way it is going.

Victoria would be very happy, the bulls would be spewing but then again on day 3 they didnt bowl that well. If Watto held that catch early on day 1 they might have been at least batting at the moment, with sometime to get runs and perhaps have a crack at them again. But such is life.

Well, it took a novel way of breaking the partnership which began two days ago, Wade out, hit wicket b Laughlin for 70.

And so often is the case after a lenghty partnership, another wicket falls. Laughlin is on a hat-trick.

Good ball, but McKay avoids being the hat-trick victim.

If Watson held any of the 3 he dropped they would be in a much better position.

8/481

C White 116*

That makes it 3 centuries in this innings that has spanned 4 days  .

Let the Vic's start celebrating now. QLD would be ready to go home. Call it off.

Absolute farce that game was. While I agree the top team deserves some advantage, I dont agree with the fact that a draw is good enough to win the Sheffield Shield. The top side should get home ground advantage, and the final should involve a best-of-3 series so that there can be a result. If drawn there should a more exciting bowl-off or something similar. Its a pretty 'out there' suggestion but really what a joke that final was!!

Qld did it last year when they made 800 odd from memory in the first innings to play for a draw. What goes around comes around. SA one the shield by playing for a draw on day 5 as well so its hardly something new.

Where did you get the "bowl-off" idea from Donkey. Hear it bandied around Saturday did ya. ;)
