Andrew "ROY" Symonds

Postby steakn » Thu Mar 12, 2009 7:10 pm

Its up for discussion. Is it curtains for Australia's most controversial and possibly most exciting cricketer(current)? I think it is... His negatives are . Age. Discrepencies? . current form . form before he was disciplined . ??? But from the bright side on his day, he dominates bowling attacks, makes the easy single and two's near suicide running(for opposing batting sides) and takes the freakish catch every second match. I think North and McDonald really have sealed his fate, more so North. Shane Watson is injury prone but is relatively young and could take it back over in the future, I doubt it though. Whats everyones opinions?

No chance to show form before the Ashes so it's 2009/10 season at the earliest when he'll be 34

So, still a chance to come back if his form and attitude are right

But with Hughes' success the selectors may prefer to take the risk (which Roy will now always be) on a youngster.

No Chance for England IMO and if he did get selected it would be a kick in the teeth for a lot of other players who miss out yet probably deserve the chance.

Exactly, why should he go cant make runs for QLD is hardly bowling and has some on going problems that he currently working through. It would be an injustice if he got picked before Hodge, Fergusson, Hopes etc...

I think it will be likely that Roy makes it back into the ODI squad at some stage, but hard to see him ever wearing the baggy green again.
