Domestic One Day Placings since 1979/80

I've only got the placings from 1979/80 onwards because the seasons before that had only knockout matches.
Between 1979/80 and 1981/82, the six teams were split into two groups. Each team played the other two in the group and then semi finals were played. Group A 1st place would play Group B 2nd place for a spot in the final. And A 2nd place vs B 1st place. Winners played off in final and losers played off for third. The other two spots I have used the tables for the better performing side to place 5th - either on points or run-rate if need be.

Between 1982/83 and 1991/92 it was the same as above, except there was no 3rd place play off. Again, I've used the tables to determine the positions of the Semi Final losers and 5th and 6th.

From 1992/93 to 1994/95, a round robin between the 6 teams was played. 1st after this automatically hosted the final, while 2nd and 3rd played off for the other spot. I have put down 3rd as the loser of this match.

1995/96 to 1999/00, saw the same format (with ACT as well between 1997/98 and 1999/00), except the top 4 played off for spots in the final: 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd. The highest ranked team hosted the final, and spots for the losers of the semi finals I have done the same to determine.

Since 2000/01, each team has played each other twice in a home and away season format. The two teams at the top of the ladder at the end of the season plays off in the final.

Sponsors throughout the 40 seasons have been:
1969/70-70/71: Vehicle and General
1971/72-72/73: Coca-Cola
1973/74-78/79: Gillette
1979/80-87/88: McDonald's
1988/89-91/92: Federated Automobile Insurance
1992/93-2000/01: Mercantile Mutual
2001/02-05/06: ING
2006/07-: Ford Ranger

Thought that was him. Always remembered the guy with glasses coming in at the end and hitting a few quick runs.

As a Redbacks fan, I think the thing that infuriates me about the last five seasons is that the only time NSW has not finished last on the table, is the 2005/06 season. ;) Still, our batsmen only had themselves to blame on the day.
