Probably could have stuck this in the "Other International Cricket Thread" ;)

NZ looked good in the 20/20 but India batted brilliantly in the first ODI and despite their poor record in NZ they should win this series convincingly IMO.

New Zealand are bravely chasing 393 to win - 8/273 after 40 overs.

Tendulkar had to retire hurt with a muscle strain of some sorts. Had that not happened, he may have gone past 200. 163 off of 133 balls with 16 fours and 5 sixes. That was after 45 overs.

Tim Southee did a Mick Lewis and conceded more than 100 runs - 0/105 off of 10.

44.3 Patel to Mills, (no ball) 1 run, caught off a no ball again, another one, a beamer, and he's taken off, the attack, caught by Dhoni off an attempted pull but he's bowled two waist high no balls in one over, his painful spell has come to an end
44.2 Patel to Southee, 1 run, in the blockhole on the off stump, dug out wide of the bowler towards long-off
44.2 Patel to Mills, (no ball) 1 run, caught off a no ball, waist high full toss on middle, tries to pull it away over deep square, doesn't connect it well enough, goes really high and Yusuf takes a simple catch in the deep. However, the umpires have a consultation and call it a no-ball for height, fair decision
44.2 Patel to Southee, 1 run, in the blockhole on the off stump, dug out wide of the bowler towards long-off
44.1 Patel to Mills, SIX, continues to bowl his rubbish, full outside off, a length ball and Mills lofts it powerfully over extra cover for a massive six

And Mills has been dismissed off the last ball of that over, the partnership of 83 is the highest 9th wicket stand by NZ, and the highest against India. 7th highest overall.

And Southee out the next ball of the match, all over. Unfortunately they couldn't do the impossible against the most hated team in the world outside the sub-continent.

In matches like this, I think the MOTM should automatically go to someone who bowled a maiden.

- The match aggregate of 726 is the second-highest ever in ODIs, next only to that unforgettable game in Johannesburg almost exactly three - years ago, when Australia and South Africa combined to score 872 in a day.

- There were 31 sixes struck in the match, which is a record - the next best is 26. India contributed 18 of those, which equals the mark for an innings. It's also the second time they've struck so many in an innings.

- There was little to cheer for any of the bowlers, but none had it as bad as Tim Southee, who became only the third bowler - and the second from New Zealand - to concede more than 100 runs in an ODI. The only other New Zealander was Martin Snedden, though he bowled 12 overs to concede 105 against England in the 1983 World Cup

- Tendulkar's innings gave him his 58th Man-of-the-Match award, which is easily the highest, and 12 clear of the second-placed Sanath Jayasuriya

Game 4 again hampered by rain and again one that India dominated.

NZ 5/270

Ryder 46

India in a revised target made 0/201 off 23.3 overs

Sehwag 125* off only 74 balls with 14 boundaries and six 6's (Really in brilliant form)
