Not sure if the Ramblers guys will agree with me, but our Umpire last weekend had a shocker, 3 caught behinds missed and a LBW decision turrned down off me cos he thought it was going over the top. I talked to the Batsman later and he said it hit on the shin, he thought he was very lucky. Its not the first time this year he has missed an edge when umpiring us. Im not saying this influenced the game in any way, just a bit frustrating.

Mate, there's plenty worse than Russell going around. I don't mind him, but he was a cranky bastard on the weekend. Our declaration when he was walking back out after tea didn't help.

I think you might have copped a tough decision on an LBW the first week with our opener, but don't know of any others. Didn't see any incorrect decisions while I was out there but I did miss some of the later part of our innings. I think it was your opener who whinged about being given out caught behind but it was certainly out. No doubts at all.

I think there is only 1 bad one AF (not russ) The standard is pretty good, Wright, Berkshire, Fromene are the best and Zadow who is the least experienced is pretty good aswell. I had a chat to Russell before the season started and he said he was only doing section 2 games this year, maybe the enthusiasm isnt there anymore.

Chris Whibley is a very good umpire IMO.

agreed bloods probably the best but doesnt no the "no-ball rule" and how many can be bowled in a day! he was wrong with that. casson got no balled out the innings in the game just gone by for NSW 4 overs apart aswell they were the balls.

Sorry Bazza, don't agree at all. I thought he did a good job. Kept good control of the game, seemed consistent throughout.

There's always going to be decisions we don't agree upon, but in general, they were all pretty much on the mark from where I sat/stood.

North Haven v Glenelg ANA
Westminster Old Scholars v South Road
ICC Sharks v Sheidow Park
Western Youth Centre v Coromandel Ramblers
Keswick v Plympton Footballers
Coromandel v Mitchell Park

Glenelg to win outright but still not make finals because Plympton get the win. Sheidow to be ousted from the 4 by Plympton. Ramblers to win one of the few times in living memory over WYC and then back it up again the following week ;)

To be honest, there isn't one game I am confident of tipping right except Glenelg to beat NH, but maybe not outright - toss may decide that.

No Hopkins for WYC again this week so it will be an interesting battle with the rambler Boys. Not having our two leading run scorers and our leading wicket taker will hurt our chances but i still have every confidence in the boys we will put on the park.

WYC made 228 and ramblers are 1/23 or thereabouts
calderbank took a staggering 7/42 off his 21 overs. WYC were playing for spin, hopefully they dont make the same mistake next game against ramblers. all in all 228 good score and the early wicket of colo helps! be interesting day at the youth centre next week

sheidow made 170 and icc are 0 for 20 or so. JB making 98 getting stumped by dingles to a ball that was actually pitched up ...

news on the other games???

on the net it has north haven bowled out for 91 off 49 overs and glenelg are 2/54 off 25 overs.
What are glenelg doing?
surely chasing 91 and needing an outright to make the finals, they woulda chased down 91 extremely quickly and chucked them in again before the day was out... i know there still more then likely going to get it but i found it weird!!

good finish to the year in section 1 and also section 2. very tight tussle for the 4th spot in both sections

plympton already lost to keswick i hear ...
rules them out of the finals unless they have a remarkable day next week which i doubt because they are carp.
No pritchard = no plympton.
every other side has more then one person to rely on (top 4 contenders). this is why plympton were never going to cause any damage. icc have numerous. wyc have a few. ramblers have no standouts just a real even team with even contributors. sheidow have 4 standouts. glenelg have o malley and rowe and also basso. they are going to be very dangerous if they make the 4.
IMO plympton are going to finish where they should (around 6th).
