Maybe we are a bit jealous that they have a spinner?

Good ball but seriously, I give Clarke a 2/10 on how he played it. Shocking.

While Australia's day, seems like the South Africans have fought their way back into it.
Plenty of times over the last fifteen years Australia have made 450+ from this situation. Plenty of times in this period the opposition have been in this position against Australia, but we have bowled them out for only another 50-60. So this first session, whilst obviously important in the context of the test, will also give a pretty good indication of where the two teams are in regards to their overall position in world cricket IMO.

Half an hour delay to the start of play for Day 2, due to wet outfield

Hussey brings up his 50 off 137 balls (9 fours...so 14 off the other 128 balls  - way to rotate the strike)

Sensational over by Steyn to Hussey.

Hits Hussey on the helmut, follows up with one that just misses Hussey's head after he takes his eye of the ball again. Final ball of the over rises sharply and the ball almost pops up to gully.

Drinks...and Hussey needs one..

That drink didn't do Hussey much good, neither did the off stump. ;)

That was Steyn's wicket. Hussey wasn't expecting a full straight one.

Whenever Hussey is in these days it's a real snooze fest.
Okay today has been slightly harder for batting, but it's still been pretty typical of his scoring rate.

The guy is struggling for genuine form, but Test strike rates of less than 40 are pretty poor going.
Have a go Mr Cricket!

We can forget about 400+ with this batting collapse.

Haddin= IDIOT. Twice now in this series he's played a horrible pull shot from outside off. IDIOT.

Johnson= Cleary NOT an all-rounder. Sick of the talk he is. Shocking decision to leave, where else did he think the ball was heading?

Agree with you on Haddin. Diabolical shot.

You might end up being right about Johnson. Lets just say he's one of the handiest "batting bowlers" that we've had in recent times...except Dizzy of course ;) On his day he will be worth another batsmen, like R. Hadlee was.

Remember, people tell us Ponting is a batsman, and look at the shot he played. Who knows what he was thinking?? "Things are all good"..."she'll be right"...Not to mention M. Clarke (who throws away his wicket regularly)

My point being is don't be too harsh on Johnson's batting if you consider him a bowler. I've recently been feeling much better about our bowling attack and more worried about our batting.

This could be yet another fantastic episode in modern test match cricket.

The only place for knockers is on a woman's chest. Give a bit of credit to the saffies for the way they have bowled today instead of bagging a bowler who scored 96 not out in last test match. Fair dinkum.

I guess I could add to that REB by saying that Johnson isn't the first all-rounder/bowling all-rounder to score a duck.
