Mitchell Johnson gave him exactly what he deserved in the first test. Secondly he thinks he is causing the batsmen trouble. He couldn't turn a ball if he was bowling on the driest most uneven deck ever seen yet he still throws his arms in the air in disbelief that the balls that he throws 3 feet outside off stump don't jag back and hit the stumps. I know bowlers like Warne and Murali use gamesmanship with such theatrics to build pressure on batsmen but those guys had the weapons to back it up. FFS even i would be embarrassed to get out to Harris. He is so very very ordinary that i wonder why Australia are concerned about our spin bowling options. It surely couldn't be as bad as Harris. How does he get a game. If he is the best spin bowling option in South Africa then they have a lot more problems than the Aussies.

Mate I don't mind him in the same way I don't mind Nel, its all part of his game to get batsmen going hard at him so he can get wickets. Given the way we Australians play cricket we can't grumble if players from other countries use "get under their skin" tactics.

However Hughes used the best tactics and exposed Harris for what he is an ordinary spinner - ignore him and when the inevitale bad ball comes along cash in... Even HArris is smart enough to know to keep his mouth shut when he is getting spanked....

I never had a problem with Nel either. He played the game well and had some ability. Harris is just a useless wanker though. At least Nel occasionally troubled a batsman. Harris just keeps throwing is arms in the air regardless. He is so very bad it's embarrassing. His antics are just ridiculous. When a guy plays a perfect forward defensive shot or leaves a straight ball that is 3 feet outside off there is no need to throw your hands up in disbelief that you didn't get a wicket.

1/202 off 50. A great start to the day. A good chance that we be 340 odd at the end of the day at this rate.

How does Ponting get out to Harris? It must have been a shocker of a shot.

As the panel has just been saying, it's reflective of the low regard our batsmen hold him in. We think we can just belt him out of the park (and we should be able to) and a few loose shots = wickets.

I agree totally. The guy thinks every delivery he bowls is a hand grenade despite any and all evidence to the contrary. I'm getting sick of that big soft fruit acting like he's turning them square and then talking so much smack on top of it. It's obvious that's his role though to try and get under our skin any way possible, I guess he has to try and justify his selection somehow.

84*
- Katich's highest score vs South Africa, eclipsing his 83 scored at Perth in Dec.
- 9th highest test score
- the first ball of the over before tea was Katich's 5000th in test cricket
- he will pass 2500 if he reaches 98
- During todays innings he passed W Bardsley to move in 41st all time Australian test run scorer. Next on the list is GS Blewett (2552 runs)
