After watching cricket in 2008-09 at international, state and local level, I have reached the conclusion that batsmen only go in to take the shine off the ball so tail enders can make the runs. It has been an amazing year for tail end batting.

And Bailey only bowled 8 (Manou must have thought he was still in Perth). Even part-timer Harris bowled 10.

Really? I haven't heard this and i speak quite often with his family. Would be wonderful for him to come home, but the reason he left was for opportunity, you think he will get the chance if he comes back? I mean Jake Brown still isnt even getting a looking into and he continues to be solid

solid but doesnt stand out as much as others in either bat or bowl IMO.
duval will get a chance. IMO he would play before haberfield n george and could possibly form an attack with cleary and tait (if fit). having bailey and christian with that makes it a promising attack! christian at 7 bailey 8 cleary 9 and duval 10 with tait the bunny good solid line up with bowling and batting covered IMO. duval can bat and at 10 would be very handy.
would be smith/cooper opening with harris, klinger, ferg, cossie and manou the other 6.

Tas 301 All Out Cleary 7/91  Picked up last 2 wkts today, Both LBW with the CA website suggesting that both may have been too High. Total of 5 LBWs for the innings.
Is it just me or are umpires giving a lot more LBWs these days?

i just noticed on the cricket aust website that one of the umpires is south african. Do we normally have foreign umpires in shield or is the start of some reciprocal agreement because of the tour going on at the moment?

2/99 krezja got Smith for 50. Klinger and ferguson in at the moment.

Im glad ferg came in at 4 where he deserves to be. Cosi at 5 is a better option than at 4. A cossie century here might have the recruiting men from other states upping the budget for the big man next season. Later part of this season is more about marketing for Cosi I believe, but hey we'll take the products of that in this game = runs.

one would think that is the case by looking at his stats Brian Jerling has officiated in 4 Test matches in 2006 and 75 ODI since 2000.
