True, but I think he is working and living with a family in the local area so match payments wont be on the agenda.

Cmon MC you dont even know the bloke, he's loyal and has fitted in like he had been there the majority of his life. Blokes demanding big coin dont usually fit in very well and get found out.

There is still plenty of time to find him out though Donkey. I wouldn't just judge his character by a couple of tranining sessions just yet.

If Benny's assessment is correct then it sounds like he is disciplined enough to just handball to your more skillful runners. Certainly could be an asset by the sounds of it.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Obviously this opens up the question, who would be the highest paid players for each team. my guess:

Hummocks - Thomas ($600)
Virginia - Geradis ($500)
Mallala - Southern ($600)
Two wells - Will Sansbury ($300)
United - Mills ($400)
Hamley - Burgess ($300)
Balaklava - Walker ($400)

I could be well out of the ball park but its just figures I have heard around the traps, I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong

Reading this, and Ben C. your the man.

PS: Underthepack, Are you implying that Mallala are spending more on players than any other club. Careful now, we all know Mallala don't pay players cause everyone there plays for the love of the guernsey. Import or not. Its only other clubs that pay players.

So Southerns not playing? or has taken a $500 pay cut in 09? If our club paid that much for 1 player I'd drop dead, thats probably our last 2 years total payments. Have been experiencing a shortness of breath lately though, and pins and needles all up my arm.

Boys, don't get me wrong and not having a sledge at anyone. If the club has the cash to be able to pay players by all means go for it. I just brought it up as a conversation topic and certainly didn't want to offend. If I have I do apologise. Just thought it would be interesting to view other peoples thought. But can skip right over it if you want.

Only seen 3 games all up when Greg Phillips (screw driver) was playing there. Good ball reader and vigilant, was more the type of ruck that gave handballs to running player around midfields and back rather than kicking it but when around goal had a crack himself. Got in best players each time was down there. Not sure what he would be on but he seemed pretty modest so my guess would be $200.

Very very very observant BenC, Im impressed!!! But.....how can you possibly estimate what a player is on after watching 3 games????? Is that based on the HB equation of paying "modest" players, $200 hey?? How many modest players do Hamley have playing this year?
I think you just blew all your credibility out of the water BennyC

Like i said, i went down there to watch screwy play. So when we caught up other than this football and premierships were part of the conversation. He conveyed these comments additional to my observations. If still in good condition, $200 for premiership playing rucks is modest i believe.
