Same as last year down the line I reckon,

A's Steve Fitzgerald
B's Troy Trevaton
u/17s Cheeky Seccafien
u/14s Dave Gameau

Is Dave Gameau playing this year?

Dave hasn't played since around 1989 - you may be thinking of Matt - Dave is the 6'6" ruckman who played back in the Gawler League days and a few years in APFL.

Yeah played a big part in both. Has the taste for it which is good ;) ;) he'll be a handy ruckman in our comp best part of 6'8" and is dangerous around goals.

I actually have seen him play down there and seemed like he knew what he was doing. This will top Mallala side off, they needed a tall like this.

Who's gonna get the job on The Big Shrek?

I would hardly call it a job Bobbie.

considering how he rates this league, the APFL hasn't seen a bigger star than The Big Shrek since....well The Big Shrek.
I say Dids should stand him

Ha ha ha, there has been lots of talk about the former APFL star 'The Big Shrek' in my absence.

Not sure when I bagged the quality of the league? In fact I have been called stupid for saying it is very similar in standard to the Barossa league. If you read over my posts I have said that while it is meaningless comparing different leagues, if the APFL had to be compared to a division in the SAAFL it would be div 3 with the bottom couple of teams lower.

Don't confuse my disdain for Hamley Bridge with my opinion of the league. I grew up there so if anything I would be exaggerating how good it was.

Daniel Griff will more than fill the void left by Moffatt. He's a big unit and will tower over all APFL ruckmen. Not Hamley's recruiting officer by any chance Ben C?

Gee you get around then BenC, good to hear your paying attention to other leagues and the quality players within. He's prob closer to 6'6" now that i think about it.
He has been great on the track and is really feeling at HOME :D

Donkey your recruiters must have great connections to get what sounds like a quality tall from Naracoorte. Has he moved into the area or is he travelling each week? Big men with premiership experience are hard to find. Surely he wouldn't come cheap Donkey!

Yeah not sure MC apparently moved into the area for family reasons.

How did he go in the game u saw, BenC. A couple of locals went to watch him a few times last year but he looked sore and I dont think they saw him at his best. Has been looking pretty good at training so far, touch wood.
Without giving too much away of course, as there seems to be a bit of interest on him on here boys!

gees. your recruiters must work hard to watch a few games of a potential "recruit".
no doubt one of the generous local families at the pies are providing free/cheap accomodation

Only seen 3 games all up when Greg Phillips (screw driver) was playing there. Good ball reader and vigilant, was more the type of ruck that gave handballs to running player around midfields and back rather than kicking it but when around goal had a crack himself. Got in best players each time was down there. Not sure what he would be on but he seemed pretty modest so my guess would be $200.

Very very very observant BenC, Im impressed!!! But.....how can you possibly estimate what a player is on after watching 3 games????? Is that based on the HB equation of paying "modest" players, $200 hey?? How many modest players do Hamley have playing this year?
I think you just blew all your credibility out of the water BennyC

I think for a 6'10" ruckman in this comp he would demand a bit more than that. I reckon $200 would only get about 3'10" of him

I'm not sure that he would get out of bed for $200. Benny, you would know he is on more than that cause if you watched him play he would be the first person after the game to tell you how much coin he's getting. You don't get big men like that for $200 thats for sure.

True, but I think he is working and living with a family in the local area so match payments wont be on the agenda.

Cmon MC you dont even know the bloke, he's loyal and has fitted in like he had been there the majority of his life. Blokes demanding big coin dont usually fit in very well and get found out.
