My advice to Watto would be either learn to bowl off spinners or else give the bowling away entirely, but whatever you do, concentrate on your batting. It's your forte, and there will be batting spots open up in the Aussie team in the next season or two.

Good Knock

114* and still a bit to come. QLD were 7/106 so was in a tricky spot. Currently 8/257

Exactly what i've been saying for a long time. He can bat but his bowling is ordinary and regardless of that he just injures himself doing it anyway. His best chance to play consistent cricket is to just concentrate on his batting.

His bowling isn't ordinary, it was really taking off before injury.

I'm not talking about the standard of his bowling, I'm saying he can't make runs if he's sitting on the sidelines injured. While he keeps making injury comebacks, his chances of securing a batting spot in the Australian team are almost zero. He needs solid cricket, making runs on a regular basis. Whether he's a good bowler or not, he can no longer afford the luxury of bowling pace.

Exactly right AH. Personally i think his bowling is crap but that's not the issue. He will keep breaking down if he tries to bowl so he needs to give it up and just bat.

Run out for 145.

GUN! Hopes made a duck. And people want him on the Ashes tour. He's a decent ODI player but test, ummm no.

Thats one of the smartest things i have seen you post. He isnt a great batter in the longer form of the game. His bowling is still good though.

jsut cause he made a duck this game means SFA. last game watto made a ton n hopes made 55 and took bags of 4 and a 5 fa in the same game! watto can only get on the field if he is batting..when he is bowling his battin drops off dramatically

Mate, I'm talking about more than one innings. Hopes' FC average is about 30. Watto's is 45. See the difference?
