Know the reason why Cooke left Flaggies? I think he is mates with a couple of Cove boys, but being a Flaggy lad for all his career, would that suggest money is a reason?

The paddle pop lion will be donning the white boots again in 2009 dont you worry about that!! Hes worth an extra 50 bums on seats come game day..... Only backman ive ever seen run into a open goal and bang it through the centre or snap over his head to rush a behind!!

I believe flaggies have picked up steve masero from westies, solid young midfielder, watch out for this name is he stays injury free, suffered with o.p. Thats another they have picked up. looked at their draw though, not soo favourable last 8 games they play the top 6 from last year.

Hey Asert,is it true that young Cookey has gone to Cove ? If it is thats disappointing as he has played his whole footy career at Flaggies.Good player who runs hard but not sure where he would fit into Coves A grade side,Vick,Schneyder,Miller and a few others would all be ahead of him i would off thought.
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

Apparently its true Tatts, Cookey was always more of a running half back than a midfielder or forward, so comparing him to vick, schneyder or miller is unimportant. But will be interesting to see if he gets a start in that side.

Fair point Reppoh, but if you look at Coves back 6 they were pretty settled and worked well together.I maybe wrong but Heater was their only genuine small back there i think so i would imagine that Cookey may have to adjust to another running position.Flaggies seem like they really going well from what a couple of the boys said and with a few good recruits im just surprised that Cookey has left when this maybe one of their best seasons.

Your as surprised as we are... Still waiting to find the real reason(s) behind him leaving.

Yer i reckon there would be a few. Even all the good A Grade sides still probably have 5ish players that could go down to B Grade, the so called no-names of Coves A Grade side (i.e not your Vicks, Ramsys, Heater, etc etc) may be good because they are in such a good side, but whos to say there arent better players in the comp to fill that position.

For one, Dan Butcher was selected at FF in the assoc game, and would definatly slot into Coves forward line up.

Guess the arguement comes down to opinions though, so will never no 8)
