Make the right decisions and you will have no worries, just remember the crowd goes to watch the players not the UMPS.

I think everyone is forgetting about Tanunda's midfield, by far the best last season and the other sides are still unproven, so at this stage Tanunda still has the best midfield (by a country mile).

Swoop,
Trust me, if we can go the whole season unnoticed, BEERS on me GF night... thats what we generally try to do but whether we make the right decisions or not.... it doesn't matter because they're not gunna change! hahahhaahahahaha joking

2nd- Angaston will be a good side this year, dont write them off just yet Texas.
3rd- Niklaus, Cooke, Clasholm massive losses for Gawler Central. No recruits yet. More pressure on Hahn again.
4th- South, can they break into finals??? Got exactly what they needed in the draft a couple of big men, to help the struggling undersize backline.
5th- Nuriootpa Will be very good this year. Two Salter's big value to have them back, will have close to best midfield in the competition. (Gerhardy, Gibson, Salter, Salter and Foulis)
rest made up of Freeling, Barossa, Willaston and Kapunda.

Big call saying Nuri will have the best midfield in the comp. I reckon Angastons will be fairly handy in Dawes, Robertson, Harvey, Bain, Pech and Doecke/Bascombe to float through there as well. Although I have heard that Harvey will play in the back pocket this year seen they have recruited quality onballers with pace.

You make some very valid points under the pack. But not sure if your mail is right on Harvey. Unless he has taken a massive pay cut not sure if the panthers would be paying $500/game for a back pocket. also dont think Bascombe will be much chop AGAIN this year, still pretty fat i heard. like to see him complete a game or two.
Not sure where that negativity is coming from Scud, but I can reassure you that Brenton is in fairly good nick and will play a greater onfiled role this season. I think you may find that Diddles will have a few more helpers this year and will be part of a continuous midfield rotation with the above names.

I agree that Ango will have a pretty potent midfield this year, but who is marked to play in Key positions.

you can throw nicholls into those nuri midfielders too. turned into a genuine gun last yr and a matchwinner. watched both nuri v tanunda games last and nuri's midfield were on top or broke even on all bar one quarter. Mainly thanks to sappsfords dominance over wells in the centre bounce though. IMO Tanunda have the best midfield, certainly on paper (both teamsheet and chequebook).

Yer agreed Rusty can Ruck at colts level, played association vs Hills 08 as well.
Some bigger frames may test him
Fat Turrell is gone though..... ha
Ha, i assume your talking about ex Kapunda player? could he even get of the ground?
fair go boys. he was certainly carrying a few extra but used every kilo to his advantage in beating taller, higher leaping, better credentialled ruckmen. smart player and impossible to replace in the kapunda side due to ability and his local status.

Wasnt having a crack, was just stating he's a solid lad. Good luck to him at Eudunda. North League is a lesser league than B.L&G but is still very competitive, will be a good stepping stone to his coaching career.

Let's be honest Eudunda haven't been any good for a while now and i can't see them going any good while Turrell is up there. He is a solid lad because he is unfit.. You need player coaches to lead by example not sure running out of puff before half time is going to help....

My mail from up at Bomberland is Turrell was definitely NOT a good trackworker. I agree with BLG Ump - it will be interesting to see how he goes up there.

By the way Ump, Kapunda is having a trial game v Waikerie in reverse order (A grade @ 9.45am) on April 4th, due to Corey Ryan's wedding. May be worth contacting the club.

I see schmidt didn't last long at tanunda.. perhaps he couldn't fit his round head into the square hole.

rookie mistake there pinch. obviously not familiar with the incestuous culture at boxhead land. schmidt's are a dime a dozen there, may aswell be a suburb of Tas. the one cleared to lutheran is a different one.

From what I have heard young Scud that Harvey boy has come back to his home club as he was getting tired of carrying half forward flankers...By all accounts it seemed he had enough of those more interested in giving high five to the guys at the bar after kicking a goal as the bar was closest to a contest they got...

Pinch as Mentioned wrong Schmidt, the one that has moved on is Aaron who played in last season's reserves side. A few of the younger guys that are off the Uni have decided to play with Adel Luth instead of travelling back to the Barossa. At this stage there are still only the 2 outs from last season's A grade side but it sounds as though Kieboom is a little undecided at this stage.

Nuri may also improve a little more than I have accounted for here, but they cant afford to lose any players, infact they probably need to add to their list.

Schluter / Mail Medal: M Greenwood, had a slow start to the year this year and still came equal third, if is fit and firing come round one next year expect to see him place his second medal around his neck.

So Nuri aren't quite good enough to break into the finals this year? i thought they had some handy recruits?

I think Liquid will change that... Angaston and Nuriootpa will be very tough this year...

I heard the biggest recruit in the BLG Matty Dawes had actually signed at the Southern Eagles in the YP because he is from Yorketown, but then moved to Angaston due to work... Interesting...
