Pembroke OS vs PAOC (PAOC are getting better, but it's at the rectangle again)
Flinders Park vs Eastern Park (FP are a quality side now, not that it matters)
Payneham NU vs Salisbury (A win gets us out of relegation, hopefully)
Athelstone vs Pooraka (Easily)
Walkerville vs Old Ignatians (Probably a preview of next week)

At least the B grade has some finals spots still up for grabs. Walkerville, Pembroke OS, Eastern Park and Payneham NU fighting for the last two spots, with Walkerville still capable of getting the double chance if they win and other results go their way.

God bless the boy who tips with his heart, not his head..... :wink
15 minutes into the third quarter it was a tip with my head... :D :

Once again you served it right up to us Pag and we were lucky to walk away with it....VERY lucky.

the discussion that night at the bar was how were going to beat Pembroke next week and i told those taking part in the discussion to pull their bloody heads in. I said that we're only 1 goal better than the bottom side at the moment and we're going to need a lot more than 2 forwards back in the side to beat pembroke. We'll get flogged if we play like that next week...

Also reading the finals handbook blublurag and it doesnt mention execptions to the rules where the club wanting a home final doesnt actually have a clubroom to sell west end as such....at the end of the day, still shouldnt be given the final.... But because they had home finals last year, they couldnt say no this year was the official reason given to us.... carp i say

what difference does that make?? Westminster OS have Coopers signage on their score board and are actual sponsors of the club. the first year when the signs went up west end did not say a thing to the club still i agree that Pembroke's oval is a Shocking place to play finals footy remember from when they were in div 4 it was not very wide

Well Athelstone is in big trouble bucket loads of injuries A big key player with an injury a no name would be sadly missed if he does not play again Pembroke are a class act Will go premiers if they can apply the same tactics on a decent size ground rather than the back yard they play on Its like watching a permanent flood with the AFL What a waste of space Jarman is Fenton would be a far better option At least he is versatile

The official 30-man short-list for the McKay Medal, in alphabetical order:

Tyson Burrows (Payneham NU)
Carlo Calabrese (Old Ognatians)
George Choimes (Prince Alfred OC)
Sam Fritsch (Pembroke OS)
Josh Gould (Walkerville)
Mal Grossman (Athelstone)
David Hockley (Salisbury)
Kevin Hopper (Athelstone)
Simon Laube (Walkerville)
Ander Lowe (Prince Alfred OC)
Paul Margaritis (Salisbury)
Louis Martin (Payneham NU)
Ryan March (Flinders Park)
Ryan McKee (Eastern Park)
Geoff Munn (Walkerville)
Corey Noble (Eastern Park)
Anthony Paradiso (Pooraka)
Matt Paul (Eastern Park)
Dean Pead (Pooraka)
Fraser Pinkney (Pembroke OS)
James Pinkney (Pembroke OS)
Nick Pesch (Flinders Park)
Darren Reeves (Salisbury)
Chris Robertson (Athelstone)
Terry Rogers (Payneham NU)
Kristian Segale (Old Ignatians)
Adrian Silvestri (Old Ignatians)
Brad Stahlhut (Flinders Park)
Justin Trim (Prince Alfred OC)
Mark Watts (Pooraka)

For Salisbury, I doubt that Hockley or Margritis will win it, both have spent probably too much time in the two's, but have dominated games when they're on. Reeves has been close to our best all year and will pick up a few second and third preferences I would think.

Burrows is still my pick, with maybe Stahlhut from Flinders Park as a smokey. Consistently been in the best in a winning team in the second half of the season.

Just goes to show the umpires have no idea.

Athelstone - Hopper, Robertson & Grossman. - what were they thinking.
How about Luke Abell, Ben Skurrie

Mate, Robbie wouldn't know what a medal is, unless it's served over the front bar at the Eureka...

Top bloke though.

Funnily enough, the last time I saw Rob Myles he wasn't playing, suspect he was injured, and he was chugging a Borbon and Cola can.

This weeks big games...and my selections.

A's Pembroke OS v Payneham NU - this will be close but I just think PNU's physical presence might worry Pembroke. Pembroke won last time but Angus Berry won't kick 5 this time and with Darrington and Stagg in it gives them some extra height.

A's Walkerville v Old Ignatians - it was close last week, but the Cats by a bit more this week.

B's PAOC v Walkerville - The Cats almost beat the Raggies and it was a stronger Raggies side than the one that lost to PAOC a week later.

B's Salisbury v Eastern Park - can't see Eastern Park winning this one.

Thanks for putting the wood on us Blublurag, If Pag tips against us he'll get a whack over his boofy red head :?

Fairly confident this week, its one of the strongest sides we've fielded all year. You know you've got a strong side when you have the likes of James Stagg, Tony Zanker and Cameron Smith starting on the bench...

You'll have to come find me tomorrow then, cos I'm tipping Pembroke. :P The oval just has too much of an effect, any normal team can't play it. Scotty Darrington was pretty good last week I thought, and I was waiting with false hopes of Staggy's hamstring to go, but even though both looked pretty good, I don't think you guys will get up. Sorry Lisa.

Walkerville to get over Iggies pretty easily.

I'll go with Walkerville over PAOC in the B's, simply due to the home ground. Rough on PAOC here.

Our B's should win their first game for 7 weeks. A couple will go back in from the last week's A grade side, and 3 who missed last week due to playing an Under 17s final the day after. We had a permit turned down today, which baffles us since he's played his only 6 games since the mid-season break in the B grade, but what can you do? Oval might favour them a bit but I think we'll get there. They'll have some good red-headed support down there too. I might even give you a faint cheer too Lisa.

And blu, that wouldn't have been last Sunday at Kilburn by any chance? I'm pretty sure that's what Robbie was doing then, and on Saturday, and the day before that...

Well Payneham and Iggies shut me up, surprised by both results. From what I saw Payneham dominated the game against Pembroke and looked really good, completely different to last week. Well done Lisa.

So next week looks like this then:

A Grade
Second Semi: Athelstone vs Payneham NU @ Torrens Valley
First Semi Pembroke OS vs Old Ignatians @ Haslam Oval

B Grade
Second Semi: Athelstone vs Walkerville @ Torrens Valley
First Semi: Prince Alfred OC vs Salisbury @ Haslam Oval

Will be a good one out at Torrens Valley next week. I'll probably go up and have a look after spending the B grade at Haslam Oval again. :x

When i read the sunday mail & saw that payneham had beaten pembroke i couldnt believe it but i recon PNU would have been so much more physical at the ball & that would have been the difference in winning the game.
I did tip pembroke to take out the flag but now it will be out of Athelstone & PNU. Next weeks game will be a cracker at torrens valley oval, & by the sounds of it PNU have got all there players on the park where as athelstone have a few concerns over certain players with injuries. But the club has the depth.

Iggies beating Walkerville - I didnt see that coming, but Pembroke will be too good for iggies next week.

Imagine the crowed next week at torrens oval, you will def wanna get there early.

Yeah we did look alright, didnt we..

The sun was shining, the birds were chirping and the footy was great. Pag is right in saying that we looked like a completely different side on Saturday, barr a few shakey moments in the 2nd quarter.

Lucky for us we got through the game relatively unscathed, possibly a question mark over Cam Smith who felt a bit of a twinge in the first half, so we kept him off for safe keeping..

Staggys hamstring has been receiving a lot of lovin' from this little black duck, if it holds out for at least 2 more games i'll be happy (and quietly surprised :-$ ).

Looking forward to tonights count... if you're going, see you there!!
