Geez, forums are the place for grammatical correctness and spelling precision. Mate, when I write a post I don't go back and spell check everything and make sure i haven't missed any comma's, letters in words etc. If you want to waste your time doing that mate, have fun. Lets go over to the 10 most BORINGEST teams to watch thread

Massie I can understand barely played any games for Norwwod.

Mind you I susppose where do you join the line if you include MAssie in the list but not the other 3.

IMO.

Although these players may have played the majority of the season for their respective clubs they were AFL players so I believe it right for these players to be incl as recruits as they are wholey ansd soley the property of these clubs with no afiliation.

You mean like Simon Feast, Ben Nelson, Jeremy Clayton, Glenn Kilpatrick, Ben Kane, Kieran McGuiness, Mark McKenzie, Gowans...I could go on.

Could go on about the many that haven't aswell. Feast Was mid 20's (still young), Clayton (still young), Gowans 20 or so. Maybe read my comment properly so you get it in context. I SAID OLDER EX AFL PLAYERS MORE SO THAN YOUNG.

I think I've grasped the context of your two-sentence post. "more so than young" doesn't mean you're excluding the young from the sentiment of your first sentence..
But if you're saying mid 20s is young, then I guess you're talking about late 20s plus players. You may be right but I can think of Nathan Brown, Peter Walsh, Clive Waterhouse, Danny Hargraves, Jason Torney, Luke McCabe who have all given very good service. Who are the ones who make this age bracket 'notorious'?

Notorious was not the right use of word, i'll take that back. I'll say often instead. You're obviously quite a lot better at names than me so i'll put this argument down as lost.

I'm painfully aware we've recruited a few but my issue is with the generalisation of Voice's post.

For me Eddie Sansbury.

It astounds me how much critiscism this bloke cops considering he has got 1 SANFL premiership, kicked 5 goals and was unlucky not to win the Jack Oatey.

Also played in a VFL premiership side and has played numerous AFL games. As a rule premiership sides don't carry to many passengers, Aaron Keating i know but he is the exception. If he is mentally prepared for a season in the SANFL he will be a gun.

Looking at this list, and how most have gone on.... there must be some deficiencies in Caurso's game, having won back 2 back. Why isn't he on an AFL list??

Not really. Victim of his time. There's a firm view on the part of pretty much all clubs' recruiters that players under 5'9" in the old money (175cm or so) can't make it as anything other than a pinch-hitter in the modern AFL. Which is probably wrong, but what you gonna do?

Libba would never be drafted in a million years these days (yes, sad and would deprive the game of a champ, but true). Davey was roundly ignored as a draft-age kid and had to prove himself in the SANFL before getting drafted as an 'ancient' 22 year old, while Betts was picked up in the PSD (i.e. he was overlooked in the national draft)... and both of them were/are freakishly fast. Which Caruso apparently isn't.

To get drafted as a kid under 175cm these days, you need to have both explosive pace and elite (if not freakish) skills... and even then you'll probably just squeeze into the rookie draft.

Caruso could well be a top 10 recruit this year, but needs to put the runs on the board. There would usually be a big difference between the anticipated top 10 recruits at the start of the year, and the top 10 at the end based on the year's performance (e.g. Kieran McGuinness wasn't an especially heralded or hyped recruit in 2007).
