Just thought i would get in first. Most people on here are very judgemental very early. Especially about Hayden. Its just annoying.

If that were the case, they should have been given "retired out". If they retire their innings without being injured, they cannot resume their innings. If they are given "retired hurt", they can resume their innings at a later time.

I think the first test side, may not include michael clarke, i think they wont risk him! this will allow three debutants in the one game IMO.
Hughes
Katich
Ponting
M.Hussey
North
McDonald
Haddin
Johnson
Hauritz
Siddle
Hilfenhaus

12th. McGain

I think Hauritz deserves his spot but would not be suprised if McGain gets first crack and the fall back on North's offies! Hilfenhaus to get a crack before Bollinger, but at the same time, Siddle may not play and both Hilf and Bollinger gets a gig.
If McGain was to play, and Clarke out injured, there could be 4 debutants in the one test, Hilf, Hughes, North and McGain. Thats a big worry IMO.

CK, have you seen the latest overnight reports from the Veldt? Clarke has done all teh fielding drills and has had a long net with the bat, by all reports failing him pulling* up sore tomorrow morning he will play Thursday night.

Bollinger outbowled the others yesterday to take 3/29

Side will/should be:

Hughes
Katich
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
North
Haddin
Johnson
McGain
Siddle
Bollinger

Don't be surprised if they just go in with only North as a spinner and play McDonald instead as Jo'burg favours medium pacers who skid the ball on as opposed to spin.

Spinners could be North and Clarke
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Doubt Clarke will do much bowling given his recent back problems.

well clarke has a suspect back and bowls very little with it when he is slightly sore! i hope he gets up...
IMO hauritz should be playing, he deserves it! he gets his one,two or three wickets and bowls extremely tidy and with control with what we have been looking for since warne has left!
altho i think mcgain will get the gig because of norths figures this game...
but wouldn suprised if they do go with no specialist spinner and use north to bowl the offies only!! hopefully hilf gets a crack, i dont think bolinger is up to it, however if he gets picked i hope he proves me wrong

Katich
Hughes
Ponting
Clarke
M Huss
North
Haddin
McDonald
Johnson
Siddle
Bollinger

McDonald did enough to deserve another chance, and I hate the idea of playing a spinner purely for the sake of playing a spinner (ala Casson, Hauritz...)
