paralowie played for a draw for a total of approx. 8 to 10 mins mate when we had 1 wicket left and as a result we are playing finals so bullshit confo. over!

No the only bullshit is the spirit in which the game was played. I have never experienced such low comments made by another side. A bit of sledging is one thing but the personal comments were and are way outta line, and considering your keeper was the main offender he should of just got on with it instead of behaving like a whiny little bitch when he came out to bat. Things such as calling players homos and the such are not right you should stick to the game guys, but I guess if your captain can't control himself (he felt it nessesary to throw a ball at one of our players and not for run out chance just to be a c***) I don't see where the rest of the team could go.

Oh and by the way just to set things straight Frith was on the war path hitting boundry after boundry so you put fielders back to catch him. Like it has been said we were in deep s***t until Paralowie showed just how much they depend on so few batsmen (there's a tip fellas not much depth), this also considering that myself and first change were both injuried so two bowlers down.

Fact 1.. You lost
Fact 2.. you were bowled out on the first day for less runs than a primary school side.
Fact 3.. you conceded almost 100 runs per hour, quality bowling!

of course the parkers were going for the throat

your 2/90 declaration kept us in the match (of which we were grateful) so naturally we tried to exploit your declaration, and at the end of the day the parkers fell one wicket short in what would have been an upset victory and finals berth.

instructing your teammates to block out when you needed 5 runs and risk a guaranteed finals spot was also interesting which basically gave the parkers another chance to steal the game, but we were not good enough, so well done to you.

And what makes it even more interesting is when we see that you are only likely to scrape in by a bee's dick, so all that phone stuff sounds a little defensive, as if you are instructing your players what to do based on a last minute phone call trying to calculate 1/2 a point. That's not how the parkers play the game, we may be a bit undermanned at the moment but are competitive and will always seize the opportunity to go for the win.

and you ask why we should we have got the last wicket, well the answer is simple - to stick it up your interesting tactics, and we were less than an inch away from bowling your loud mouth keeper 3 times
So as i said, good luck in the finals, you deserve to be there, all we did was question your tactics, whether they be right or wrong. It's all good for the game and we look forward to playing you next season if we get the chance.

PS can we recruit Frith? He would fit in well at Rose Park

Geez, has there been some serious CRAP written in these pages over the last 3-4 days?!?! Whingers and sooks have popped out of the woodwork all over the place! Win enough games, leave nothing to chance and you won't have anything to complain about. Simple.

We will just have to wait and see. What are Vista's going to do for next season recruiting wise?

We certainly won't be targetting anyone within the Association, that's not our style. This season we managed to add some gems to our Club, so hopefully next pre-season will unearth a few more. However, our season hasn't finished yet and we've got a point to prove. We'll worry about recruiting once the season is over.

I'd love to see a Fitzroy representative join the Exec and put forward some of the sensible suggestions that have appeared in these pages over the last few months. Or at least add some agenda items, attend a meeting or two and rationally discuss them. As Eck' said, everyone is welcome to attend and voicing your opinions on a public website is hardly raising your matters in the appropriate forum. You may not get 100% what you want, but your ideas and thoughts will be taken into consideration. I know quite a few of the suggestions have a lot of backing from at least the members here.

We have a delegate attend every meeting, and voicing our concerns as a club has always been to the executive before frustrations have ever been brought up here. We also brought up agenda items before the AGM which were never brought up at the AGM and was told on the night, it was too late and bring it up next year ie hot weather rule being decided on Fri night 6.30pm news instead of 8am sat morning. So don't worry we have tried all the above, but continue to be met with frustrations. I bet tonight will be no different.

As for someone on the executive, you don't think we would like someone from Fitzroy on there? The Cricket Club and also Community Club are also asking the same question.(for people to go on there also)

I hear your pain Magies! Been there and done that. Perhaps it's up to the Clubs to get their Execs together and nut out some stuff over a few beers and not a board room..?!? As well as having younger folk on The Exec, it's important we somehow manage to ensure those people know cricket, the game. I'm not too sure that's the case right now, but as BB has pointed out, time is a scarce resource for many who have the passion..

It was weak as you had apprently been talking it up here before the day that we were so shit that it wasn't going to be an issue. That's the problem mate you have pumped yourselves up off the bottom side so good luck in the finals just remember it could have been 3-0 Parkers.
