Too right. Would've been good for Payney to watch blokes he's never seen play before, which is all a first trial tends to be for a new coach.

From what I actually watched it was pretty scrappy
In saying that its the middle of Feb and the lights weren't the best

angle vale were good early they have some guys that look like they can play a bit. was not a great game to watch early but soon changed the lodge just took a bit of time to gel but once they did they imo looked bloody good in patches, some real good recruits i believe the
ruckman were dominated as well as no 6 up forward i look forward to watching and maybe playing against them, will be big challenge.

A couple of their indigenous players for Angle Vale looked quite good. For the all the hype around Brahma Lodge I didnt think a lot of them. However Walton did look very good.

Walton always looks very good though.........

I would be interested in knowing that you expected when you turned up to watch the trial...i thought some passages of play were quite good and when you consider that trials are used alot of the time to test players in different positions and for the coach to look at the new guys i didnt think it was to bad. This also gives the coach a good idea on areas that need to be looked at during training.

Had a squizz at Glenunga's training last week on the way home from work.
A few notable inclusions, had to ask around for the form on a few of them - ex-south brad thompson, ex-westies adam marshall all in the mix and looking handy out there. A couple of other lads, Patty from Kenilworth will be a good addition, just need to add some height and they'll be eyeing off a finals berth in my opinion.

Whether they play for Angle Vale during the home and away season will be the big question.

Your not suggesting that AV were struggling for numbers and had a few players out there who might not play for them during the home and away season?

How does Glenunga travel in this comp??

Also anyone from CLG shed some light on the coach coming to blows with one of the clubs legends?

They have struggled for numbers on the track up until last week but my comment was relating to the indigenous players mentioned in an earlier post, the players mentioned are notorious for moving about and I wouldn't be pencilling them in as Angle Vale players just yet.
I think that they (Angle Vale) performed admirably on Friday night, they were underdone but toiled hard.

They scored a goal kicking to the club end from a poor throw in, I was more thinking that all of the hype that has surrounded The Lodge so far this year, that they would belt them.

Did he live around BL and go to school at Sacred Heart? Must have been a boarder if he did!!

I saw him play for BL in 2004 in D5 (IIRC) - he was a class above everybody else

Jamie started at SHOC out of school then went to BL for a couple of years (?) for $$ with a few mates, then returned to SHOC in 2005. Never played for South, maybe played 2 ressies games at West. Played CHB last 2 years, was VC last year and would have been captain this year b4 doing his knee a few weeks ago.

I wouldv'e thought a 25 goal win playing 4 x 20 minute flat (no time on) quarters is a belting

On the numbers from the trial the other night will The Lodge be looking at putting in a C Grade team?

I noticed that only 7 teams in C5 comp at the moment
