CHELTENHAM - last race meeting 21st feb

Postby mighty_tiger_79 » Fri Feb 13, 2009 4:10 pm

ok, so who's going down to cheltenham for the last meeting next week???

i havent heard much publicity about it but the question is

will the SAJC keep the admission cost at the same price, put it up with the few extra people that will attend or make it free entry/gold coin donation which could go to the bushfire fund???

they've been plugging it on every radio station i've listened to over the last week or so, anyway there is a suggestion that there could be another meeting or two down there after the 21st, might go for a look but not if they up the cost of admission trying to make extra $$$$$$$$

interesting to note that the home straight at cheltenham is longer than the one at morphettville

Having lived 5 mins from the track for all of my 32 years on this earth i wasn't going to miss the last meeting. Was a great crowd, great atmosphere, racing was good and the protest in the last race just added that bit extra to it to make it last that little bit longer and give time for some good 100M sprint races by the crowd who jumped the fence. Pity the crowds havent been as good as today a bit more often over the years maybe they may have thought twice about closing it. RIP Cheltenham!
Trust the process.

i heard a rumour at the trots that mal was at cheltenham & had a bet with a friend of "odds & evens" (winning numbers for the day), they both wanted odds so they tossed the coin & mal won the toss & selected odds........the scoreline 7 evens, 1 odds & at $10.00 per race mal lost $60.00 however i do know he got it back with interest last night
