Seen Rhyce Lacey who was mentioned last week play cricket for Roopena. Seemed a good size, must be signed up by the football team you would think. Although Matt Quist who plays cricket for north said he went to Uni with him and they might be boarding together?

From what im hearing he may still be playing with Langhorne Creek.
Ive heard that he has trainied with Roo's , North and West
He seems to have all the clubs on the go and the more it goes on the more money will probably be thrown at him or maybe thats what he is waiting on.
The way he has gone about it he wont endear himself to whoever the opposition clubs are as he has trained with at least 3 clubs and stringing everyone along which isnt a great move in Whyalla.

As a mate of Nick's I can certainly tell you that he isn't shopping around and it won't simply be a case of selling to he highest bidder.. As someone new to the area he wanted to suss out what the club's are like for himself and get an idea of what the blokes at each club are like. That being said, he'll probably still come under fire from the clubs that he trained with and didn't end up going to! He hasn't ruled out flying back to the creek each week, that might be the best option for his safety!!

I agree with you SS. The clubs up there would not take too kindly to anyone shopping themselves around for either $$$$ or an ego stroke etc. (I am not accusing Nick of doing this. I only kno what i have read on this forum). Having played in Whyalla and also against Nick i would encourage him to pick a club for the right reasons. Whyalla is a relatively small city and everyone in the football community knows everyone else. I also worked there and tried to travel 3 hours to play football elsewhere for money. It lasted 5 games and the best move i made was to pick a club and embrace the city and the people for my time there. Great times.

I agree that it would be the best option now to go back and play at the Creek as it sounds as if he isnt pleasing anyone around here. Also the Creek sound like they are going to be right up there anyway.
You might not think he is shopping around for cash but from what im hearing he really is and is just waiting for the right offer.
It doesnt take that long to work out which club he wants to go to.
Either pick a club and go with it or go back to Langhorne Creek its that simple surely ???

When I moved there I was approached by four clubs.

I met with two.

I went to the one who offered me less but seemed to have the right people around.

Mind you, we didn't win a flag, but yes, Mutley, good times.

As you said Bluey, you heard he's waiting for the right offer, and that news will spread, whether true or not.

If he does sign to a Whyalla club, might pay to steer clear of various outer parts of Bennett Oval.

I'll do up a diagram soon to explain, although most of you would catch my drift.

Here's a bit of a diagram.

When I played for Roos, most abuse came from Weeroona Bay's section. As it should.

South's wing wasn't too worrying and Westies and Centrals were alright too.

Can't remember getting much from the Northies pocket either.

If you play for any other club, stay away from the Roopena pocket.

This is done to the best of my memory, but others feel free to correct me.

Spot on SS he has made it really hard for himself to get along with anyone other than the club he goes to.
Other recruits have come into town and pick a club either for the most money or as you stated SS the club with the right people ( which i personally think is the right choice) and simply got on with it.These players can still have a reasonable relationship with the opposition but i feel that what im hearing around the traps Nick will be unable to do that as players from the clubs that he has trained with dont respect the bloke.
One thing is for sure if he does play footy in Whyalla he better back up all the hype he has caused or the abuse from opposition teams will be thick !!!!

When north plays Weeroona Bay are there any clashes in the crowd?

I've heard stories about the Bay fans rocking up to games dressed in leather and with all their pit bulls.

No nothing goes on around Whyalla like that anymore.
There is still a bit of mud slinging between the crowd but nothing major.
I think due to the economic crisis the bays cant afford pitbulls anymore.
