Obviously player payments have become an everyday fact of hills football and they have always been around to attract decent players... however, locals or guys who call themselves that, who after one or two good seasons are expecting to get paid more than a little petrol money is a disgrace...
On the pope Brothers from my understanding Michael decision to move to Lofty was more to do with playing with his mates from school than anything else...

that's very interesting, wouldn't have thought money would be a problem for either of the 2. surely bridgy would be trying hard to keep a hold of S Feijen & trying to get A Feijen back to the club as the experience they would bring to the B grade would be invaulable & something the B garde has been missing for a number of years.

I understand the point you're making but for the first time in years Bridgy have recruited well (good players, and I'm told nice fellas) and the Club has a positive vibe going. After years of no success, it must be tempting to stay and be a part of the rebirth.
Steve is probabaly a B grader these days, but surely Monty would still get a Bridgy A grade game. Maybe the thing that's driving them is to play in the same team (probably wouldn't happen at Bridgy in 2009)

would think steve would play a grade in 09 in a back pocket at least. every year for the last 10 years bridgewater have said they have recruited well and things are changing yet it has only been broken promises. yet steve, monty and matt bateman have stayed around. I guess after so many years of broken promises they have had enough. look at sam flynn, he left the club for similar reasons and has now come back for mates but also as reported back a few months, alot of $$$$$$$. think with steve he has just had enough. i hope bridgy improve this year but have heard it all before!

Yeah, it takes real character like Monty and Baters have done and move to another club, where's their loyalty?. Maybe it's their attitudes that need to evolve like everything else does in this world because a lot of people have stuck it out at Bridgy and I believe we'll see the benefits this year.
