I'll be there to see them go head to head with the best fist pumping, finger pointing and lawn mover actions after each goal.

  tell me your kidding duke! Burgess leagues best forward???? Unless he's having the pre-season of his life and dropped a few, I dont think he's quite in that bracket just yet. In front of him I would have Brian Montgomery, Daniel Feeley, Willy Searle (last year), David Barnes, Ryan Reid, Sam Jericho and Evans boys.

Feeley, Barnes and Reid??? Tell me you are kidding SD?

He kicked the most goals in league last year, in the bottom side = best forward last year

I'd back Reid over Burgess.

Do you think Virginia have purchased their way into the finals?

I heard Phillips was disliked as a coach at previous clubs (including Port), but he obviously has some pulling power....

Or are big dollars doing the pulling?

i watched about 70% of hamleys games last year. my understanding is burgess played one handed, and not by choice for a change, because of injury. he had the ball up forward less then any other team; so less chances at kicking a goal. often had the best backman. i didnt think he did to bad. who cares if he wasnt super fit in my opinion. he could read the ball better then any other person near him.... oh well

Would be interesting to see what he could do if he got fit like he was when he was younger.

i would suggest it's like a 75/25 deal with the money being the driving factor, you have to remember that Virginia would talk themselves up as a club also, it's not till things goes awry that the real deal emerges, but it's definatley too early to talk finals, hooweee, sure they have a list of recruits as long as my.........Arm, but they would only be allowed to play seven i reckon, and with the ones they have from last year, their B-grade could benefit from the overflow that's assuming they are any good. time will tell, but don't start talking them up yet they haven't earned that yet!

i paid my five bucks to get in, so i saw plenty, you dont have to to have x-ray vision to know when free kicks are and aren't there, good on him for getting to the front, you always stand a better chance if you are in front, but some free's were dead set milk dud's.

And i got plenty of kicks, laughing at the big boombah doing his warm-up laps!!

im pretty sure barry would be reading all this and loving it. he has always loved the limelight hence his outlandish goal celebrations!!!! and by the way saw him the other week and he has been in a VERY good paddock over the summer, dont expect to see him move too far from the goal square. maybe if had made some more runs this summer he would be fitter!!

Firstly, welcome Son.
daysofourlives - I would have to disagree with you on a few counts. I think that those close to Barry know that he is always the first on the track and the last one to leave, his work rate is second to none. As a matter of fact, I seen him before christmas and he appeared to be carrying a six pack! Secondly, He doesn't need to move far from goals, due to his shear brilliance inside the 50 metre arc. Vote 1. Barry for Mayor of Hamley.
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?
