New Coach at Onkas is Shane Lynch from Aldinga. Bridgey lost a few i think but also gained heaps from what I'm hearing. Had a lot of improvement to do but looks like they may have done it so good luck to them.

I think they will definately challenge them, plus Onkas and Ironbank too, especially at home. Brad Devries is a big boy and will kick a lot of goals at the small confines of the Raiders home.

Looks like Lobey have picked up a gun recruit from the Sunraysia League in Country Victoria. Nick Woolford, played for SHOC's through school then moved to Mildura for a couple of years. Won best defender in the league playing only half the season CHB then moved into the midfield and still got up. Played in Mildura's premiership side in 2007 and represented the League also i think.
Tough and fair, plus a top bloke........ great pick up for Lobey.

Throw in a fit Nitschke & Higgins and Lobey look like being pretty competitive. At last count 7 quality new players in their first 18, would have to be enough to put them in front of Birdwood, Bridgewater and challenge Onka's and probably Ironbank.

In light of new information, here is my new Ladder prdiction for season 2009

GF
Mt Lofty vs Hahndorf

Blackwood
Uraidla
Mt Barker

Bridgewater
Onkas
Lobethal
Birdwood
Ironbank

I also beleive that all sides should be reasonably competitive with no easy beats, and all sides should win at lease a couple of games.

had a quick look at bridgy's training session last night, looked to be a lot of new blokes out there. apprantely the norwood recruits McLean, Fosdike & De Vries (who is still yet to sign) all on the track. hopefully this year is the turning point for the raiders & we can hang on to these guys for a few years.

Good to see Bridgey moving in a positive direction. The new pres John Schneemlich and Football Director Michael Richter have implemented a lot of changes over the past few months to get Bridgey moving forward, not just for this year but for the years to come.

Interesting to see Bat Pad that you've picked them to finish just out of the five......

Yeah based on Onkas and Ironbank slipping and i think they werent that far off Birdwood last year. They have picked up some quality recruits, plus the rest. I heard 17 new players. Not sure if its quite that many but id say they would have picked up at least half a side. Having said that, even though i've put them 6th, im not tipping for them just to miss the 5. I think there will be daylight between 5th and 6th this year as opposed to last, but less difference between 6th and 9th, and 1st and 9th this year if you know what i mean.

Fair enough :D . What i mean is, and we'll just use my prediction as the example, i believe Ironbank will be far more competitive this year against Lofty(1st) and Bridgewater(6th) , than Lobey were against Lofty(1st) and Onkas(6th) last year, but Bridgewater will be further away from finals than Onkas were last year (they missed out on percentage). hows that?

Yes, that makes sense

I think the vulnerable team in the top 5 (based on your predicted ladder) is Mt Barker and I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop further. But I agree that the gap between top and bottom will be reduced, which is good as 30 goal margins are not good.

A few people might be interested that 'Trigger' Tresenski was at mt lofty training tonight and could be playing this year. I believe he is slipping on the boots at tomorrows 20/20! Gee Mt Lofty would love his services mail medalist!

I'm sorry I'm getting a bit confused. Do you mean playing or coaching?
