most subs in an innings

Postby bayman » Sun Feb 15, 2009 8:20 pm

today during the 2nd session harris, symonds & broad all were off the field with 'subs' on in their place, i've never seen a first class game with 3 subs on before, so has it ever happened before ?
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The best bet would be to ask the ECB. Ricky Ponting would. ;)

That's all the help I can give I'm afraid. Now that Bearders has passed away, there's not a lot more you can do. :(

did they ask you to put the creams on Bayman;) ;)

I recall some years ago that one team touring India was that badly affected by heat required a Journalist covering the tour to take to the field as they had exhausted their entire touring party

Yep and in a test match too!!

1981-82 test match Australia v West Indies At Adelaide for most of the game Australia had Chappell (broken finger), Hughes (broken toe) and Dennis Lillee (groin) off the field. Marsh captained the side with only three bowlers, Pascoe, Alderman and Yardley IIRC...

We lost.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I remember a Tour Game WI vs Sth Aust and a bug went through the SA team and Winston Davis who was 12th or 13th man for WI fielded for us. From memory he took a catch on the boundary in front of the grandstand too.

However, back to the question - I'm not sure how many players we were down at the time but I suspect it would've been a few.
