A mate has the plate 'FORD', its worth a small fortune.

He has had offers of $20k plus for it.

You should hear when he tries to book it in for a service -

I remember some bloke bought the plates "PTPOWER" and "PORTAFL" prior to Port's AFL entry, and sold them some time later for a profit. It was in the papers at the time.

Seen a nice looking merc the other week with the plates "YWORK"
also had stickers on the back windows "proudly supported by centrelink"

A bloke I used to work with bought the plate GOFRO the day after Guy Sabastian won Australin Idol, trippled his money in less than a week

I saw a BMW 4WD in Norwood shops yesterday that had the plates WHUFC 1 yesterday !!!

Not the WHUFC from this website, but I thought he'd like that one !!!

really early on when the green and gold ones came out my dad knew a bloke who's workmates got GHOB 50 for his 50th birthday.

GHOB - Grey headed old bastard

I've seen a few around going back some years, GHOP, GHOC and wonder if they stand for similar things.

CNDMND (i think its meant to be condemned...but who knows)
MYVSSS (really, is it yours? sure you didnt steal it?)
MMM69 (not sure on this, but rumour has it the guy is gay so....?)
BNKRPT (bankrupt - this is GOLD seeing as it is on a brand new VE SS ute...lol)

For people wishing to sell plates for $20k I would say a good plate for them is DREAMN, for those who pay that much SUCKA

Back when i was a kid in the 90's my parents had GDONYA.

But because the D looked a lot like an O everyone asked them what the hell GOONYA meant. :D
