Torrens...there one day, gone the next !

An electrical fault caused the weir to open and empty the Torrens !

Woohoo !

A nice cesspit of sludge and rubbish has been left in the city ! They've found a car, bikes and tonnes
of rubbish !

Probably won't get water in it until it rains next i.e next millennium.

The wetlands behind my joint (Lockleys) looks great this morning ! Needed a top up !

Very bad look for the festivals coming up! best time of the year in Adelaide, many interstate / OS visitors and an ugly city outlook.

Bad timing. fill it up! somehow I dint think the lower lakes towns would be too happy if that happens! especially goolwa residents!

A chance to give it a really good clean up.
Then if we all drive up to Qld and back with a couple of 44 gallon drums in a trailer we can help both states out. ;)

Agree with Psyber...it's a pretty sad sight but make the most of the opportunity to clean it up and take out all the crap to make it safer...it'll get filled again.

Looking at those pics, the bottom of the lake isn't actually that deep.

They should dig it out more so it can hold more water, cement it,
chuck in some chlorine, and turn it into a swimming pool....

I reckon it was delibarate. They did it so they'd have an excuse to flush it out before the festival.
